Diplomacy issues, Editor, etc

Am I the only one to find the diplomacy engine is ... clumsy ?! Having to "trial-&-error" every goddam proposal you make to the AI is increasingly tedious. I suggest Stardock should look at EUII for ideas. Such as the likely acceptance factor, where you tailor your offer depending on the likelihood your opponent will accept it. In EUII you get points for your victories and depending on the number accumulated you can increase or decrease what will likely be accepted as settlement.

I would also suggest that the diplomatic options should be broadened , agin using both EUII and SEIV as an inspiration. As it is all you can offer now is peace if you're at war and attack or make peace. You cannot offer a minor civ to become a vassal (EUII), or a protectorate (SEIV). There are no trade, cultural and/or research treaties. Is this in the works for this version or another or will never be implemented ?

Regarding Starbases I suggest all the shipbuilding facilities become buildable modules on starbase (ala terror star) rather than planet bound facilities. It would make sense since you already have all those production enhancement modules in place. Another benefit would be to increase each starbase strategic value since you could scrap a civilization's ability to build ships by attacking them.

Regarding the United Planet Council, I found the files to edit but again we're lacking any guidelines about the values that can be edited. Also it's imperative the player gets the ability to call the UP Council in session when he's the dominant power.

I'm also interested in knowing whether or not there will be an editor at some point ? I wish to create my own maps !

Thanks
