What If

I know you've loved and lost
And heard these words before,
You're afraid a broken heart
Will be broken again once more.

What if you forgot the past
Bad memories gone away,
And could know a love that grows
With every passing day.

What if you began to trust
A man who would never lie,
Knowing this is a love
On which you can rely.

What if you could only know
The feelings held deep inside,
Of a man who is truly honored
To have you by his side.

It's said for each of us
There's one love meant to be,
What if God has planned
For you to be with me.

What if at the moment
When your eyes met mine,
Our two hearts had found
The one love we're meant to find.

What if I had the chance
To show you what love means,
To be there, to encourage you
And help you reach your dreams.

No conditions would come with,
The love I'd have for you,
Only that you always know
It's genuine and true.

"What if" no longer exists
Now that we're together,
With your hand in mine
We'll walk into forever.
