Auto-scout? How?

Is there a way to auto-scout? The auto-scan missions only has the ship whiz around known space.

I would like to see this also, I was hoping "explore sector" would jump from sector to sector and clear it out.

Another useful feature would be "auto survey WITH auto scouting".

While I wouldn't mind seeing an "autoscout" and/or fog-of-war toggle option, I have found a fairly easy semi-manual scouting method:

I "autpilot" (left click) my scouts to each of the nearby stars, but then concentrate on survey ships. Two or three scouts with several survey ships (on auto survey) means almost no management, and almost no blind spots. Scouts on have to be "attended to" when they reach a new star, which allows me to investigate the star myself.

It's a high return for a low time and attention investment. Hope this helps.

Still would be nice to get an autoscout feature. And, its very different than asking for no fog of war.

"Sigh...sounds more like you want a gameoption to remove the FoW.
Boring if you ask me..."

How is an autoscout feature like removing FOW? It just takes the micromanagement of moving your scout ship manually. You still have to invest time / resources to uncover what's out there (and patrol after you do). I think your on the wrong page here.

So your wrong, if you ask me... ;)

Ditto what Kilo said. I don't want the fog of war automatically removed, what I want is a way to order my Scout like, "OK, explore this sector thoroughly and report back on your findings. Then move to the next uncharted sector and do the same. Repeat until you reach your maximum range", rather than having to hold his hand through every sector as if the pilot is a four-year-old.

It's not "removing the fog of war", its removing micromanagement caused by childishly simple pilot AI (or lack of one).
