Captain Jack Sparrow Captain Jack Sparrow

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

G.R.O.S.S. Where being good is merely a temporary strategy.

Just win baby.

Here's your ration of skin you do gooder wimp Drengin slime. Now get back to work

EBZeroMatrix you have been made a senator.

I repeat. Cringe in fear, we come for you.

Taxes paid. Up to 133. Closing on top 100. Hey boss, I found a way to use Arcean brain fluid extract to get more power out of my antimatter engines.

Well that's about all their brains are worth. But we do serve them chilled in our kfd franchises near Drengin space.

I probably won't get another one in today, but I might get one started. My plan is to GCCG to the top 25 and then start doing larger harder boards. I do have a question for ya captain. It takes about 3 movements in difficulty to go to the next difficulty level. If I were to make 2 movements(ie, increase two AIs to the next difficulty level) and it still stays at Beginner is there still an internal difficulty level that changes(ie Cakewalk = 1, easy = 2, simple = 3, beginner = 4, etc.... But if I increase by 2/3 movements I make it like 4.6 instead of 4).

I was just curious if anyone has checked.

You are scored based upon each difficulty of your aliens. hence if you increase the difficulty of say just the Yor (they are the one's I'd recomend you move up first) then it will score higher, on average than games in which you didn't.

That's good to know. I wanted to slowly turn up the difficulty. Who would be the 2nd race to raise?

Difficult to say. I find that the Altarians and Arceans are mean if they get a good starting position, because they have good economies. The Drengin are good at the start and up to the mid-game due to their military and extortion, but usually fall away due to a poor economy. I think the Torians are usually losers and not agressive in my games.

Much depends on starting position and map size (you play small) and alignment.

My opinion: increase Torians and/or Drengin.

Thanks bud. I've started a game with the Yor +1 level of difficulty. My next one will have the Yor and one of the two you mention, probably Drengin. BTW, since you don't set the level of the minors, do I assume it takes the average difficulty(beginner, normal, ...etc.)?

Wow, that did make a bit of difference in the score. I got 13490 for all subnormal except Yor which were normal. Now, I did get the last two techs which I've never gotten to before, so I'm sure that that accounts for some points and since I had the extra 30 or so turns to get to the final tech, I got some extra pop. So I guess, I have no idea if it made any difference, oh well. I guess I'll just have to add the Drengin in at normal and restart. I did notice a significant difference in how often the AIs got out of debt, compared to just 1 level of difficulty less. Anyway, taxes paid boss. #128 and climbing.

Of course, I didn't build ANY influence trade goods or wonders until I finished the tech tree. That probably helped. Oh and to get the Yor off my back I eventually traded their best planet for a bunch of tech. A 15 billion pop planet. That took the wind out of their sails a bit.

Ah, the hectic pace of Labor Day. Well, I'll just toss another bone over to Threadzilla here as I settle in for a bit of leisurely forum browsing after an all too adventurous weekend.

Well done B - I'm sure getting the last tech helps score; I always try to reach it if possible. You are wise to hold back on Historical Preserve, Gal Monument, etc until completing the tech tree, as you will flip the remaining planets too easily if you build them first. I think the pop counts too - I score better if my pop exceed 1000B. We could balance the galactic budget on the taxes you've paid lately!

You're certainly churning through those small games: well done!

Killa,

I can get any of the AIs to trade techs for planets after awhile. Once, I got 3 systems for a set of techs. Thanks for the kudos too.

Shrekette the Orc's hubby (aka bluesteel) and EvilBuzz had a diabolical plan. Just as the Republican movement had shattered his empire into a Republican faction, he was going to shatter another empire by introducing a monarchist movement. He set out and made plans to do this to the MWC. He found the place he needed, a tavern. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!!!!

Plephart: Oh God Save them alright. Meeechigan is crushing those sissies!!!!
Idle: Oh yea the Queens alright. Hope you didn't have any money on em. Pull up a chair and watch some football with us. Here's some Bud.

Bluesteel: But don't you want to set up a monarchy in these United States here and not a rebel republic.?

Biker chick: What's a Monarchy?

Bluesteel and Buzz knew they'd come to the wrong place.
