G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

G.R.O.S.S. Where being good is merely a temporary strategy.

Just win baby.

Here's your ration of skin you do gooder wimp Drengin slime. Now get back to work

EBZeroMatrix you have been made a senator.

I repeat. Cringe in fear, we come for you.

So, we got a figurehead with no head for figures?

Sorry, I had to type that. Just feeling a bit impish today. About time for me to put on my paper hat and get out the wooden sword. About time to crack some Altarian skulls. Good hunting, GROSS fellows.

Bunk Bunk on the head. Well there, now your're looking a bit more impish too.

Good News G.R.O.S.S. ers, I sent that board in and will likely get my 5200 points back. Lets keep our fingers crossed. My game now has reached sort of an impasse. I am the strongest but my supply lines are long. I'm busy making a nice dread/Battleship fleet to "Introduce" myself to my galactic neighbors on the far side of the Galaxy. The Arceans are now toast. It's only a matter of time now. Our Kentucky Fried Drengin Franchises have proven a huge hit once again.

Ahhhh! RUN! My evil experiment is ruined, I tell you. Ruined! Fundamentalists came along and raised heck. This is the game where everyone is set to evil. The drengin are pure evil (of course) and the other 4 are chaotic evil.

Luckily, I was mostly spared from their straight and narrow ways because I was still barely neutral at the time, but fanatical religious carnage is everywhere! The Drengin and Yor were destroyed outright. The Torians were stripped down to their capital, which revolted to join the I-League 2 turns later. The Arcaens took a hit that cost them at least 4 systems. Sadly, the $#&@ Altarians were not evil enough at the time and lost hardly anything. In fact, they are the dominant superpower left on the map besides the Fundamentalists themselves. (Now they have an impressive little empire going on. It is a real threat right now. Don't call them a minor civ, call them Sir.)

I am just trying to get by and avoid Altarian extortion attempts. These guys get nasty when they are evil. I am behind, way behind, but I got a plan. The Fundies are going to basically fight the whole map except me. I am trying to reroute all the trade to them and keep them happy. While the zealots tie up the Altarians for a few dozen turns, I will build up and launch my glorious invasion fleet to level the playing field by crippling those Altarians and then control the situation.

Now, that is what I call a game altering event! :)

Hi mates.

Oh Pontius, it was the best of days, it was the worst of days. It made my night, it ruined my day. I laughed, I cried. Got the picture? Version 1.35 with masochism = really hard. My confidence is shattered and I definitely need some ego stroking. Respect to Staffa and all those who play maso regularly. :sniff!:

Chris, I can see where 1.35 (battle hammers nerfed down, score nerfed down, The Arcean ai beefed up, and PQ pick nerfed quite a bit vs 1.02) could be hard.

Now I'd like to see them change 3 things that I think are totally advantage human.
1. Buying (leasing) wonders and trade goods. Make those items unable to be purchased. Admittedly, I purchase em.
2. The 100% solution. Introduce diminishing returns. ie wastage when you put sliders to a high level.
3. Multi-Starbases per sector. Nerf em entirely. Indeed I won't use em. Doesn't have much realism for me.

I'll download it soon as the phantom ship bug is fixed and I've finished my pending games. HEHE.

Ahhhh Gerakken. I haven't had the fundie event yet. Maybe it's part of 1.35. I am told morale has something to do with how many revolt, but can't be sure.

OH and If any of you have a cool logo Idea and can put it on a 32X32 jpg file. Send it in!!!

Have you ever seen those Chevy trucks that show Calvin taking a whizz on the Ford Logo? LMAO wonder if something like that would be allowed? We could have him just whizzing or whizzing on a Torian. HEHE. But first someone would have to find us one and I don't know where to look.

Or if someone else has something both more tasteful and cool. That's fine too.

Hey gang,

Just thought i'd share an update of my (normal/brilliant) game. Early on there was a UP resolution which forbid evil empires to have more than 1 trade route. Naturally this killed my 'evil' instincts as far as GalCiv morality is concerned. Interestingly enough, you can be 'evil' in the game w/o having the interface change over. (But I can never figure out where the morality number is for me). Anyway it was a large galaxy, very oddly U shaped arrangement of planets with the apex of the "U" pointed to the right, and me on the upper-left part. I got very lucky with a good cluster of planets including one 24, and two military resources. I blitzed my way to Dreadnaughts while having the entire galaxy pissed at me b/c of a very small military, although only the pathetic Torians were in the position to do anything. The Arceans actually went to war w/ me even though they were, what 5 sectors away or something? Really pathetic, they just battlecruisers after one planet which I of course fortified. Finally I got dreadnaughts, shifted my economy to generate constructors, dreads, and Combat Transports. Eventually I had ten dreads and some combat transports, and sneak attacked the Torians. The Alterians who were allied w/ them also came to their aid, to no avail. Despite both civs having dreadnaught tech I only encountered one or two, and with my huge military bonus wiped the floor with them in 5 months or so. I now have 50% of the galaxy and am able to produce dreads on some planets in 5 turns at 50% military. The Torians have 3 planets, the Alterians a small handful. The Yor surrendered early on, now it's just me and the Arceans. I plan to wipe the floor w/ them soon, and then hopefully get to evilness by colonizing and abandoning colonies and selecting the evil option for the morality choice thing. Since I am so far ahead of the AIs I will pursue a military victory while trying to rack up the population and tech for a higher score (but none of this 10 hours of hitting next turn nonsense). Next time i'll increase the AI one notch and see how i do. I find large galaxy most comfortable, since i don't have a lot of playtime and want to push through as rapidly as possible. Anyway GROSS on!

Your empire morality score is in the 4th icon from the left (Domestic policy screen) Hit the stats tab down the bottom, then society near the top. Your morality rating is then listed top left. Mine for example is Demonic 1. LMAO I must be slipping. It creaped up to one. Actually I got an event where the choice was killing my people and getting something worthless too me or not killing em and getting another thing worthless to me. So I chose not to kill em. I got that evil trade limit as well. They set mine to 5. However, I'm not noticing it much in this game because I'm the federalists +econ.

This Galaxy i s now in the bag for Gross. The Altarians are deserting in Droves. The Torians have one planet left and it's got the cultural rebellion tag on it. The Arceans are now taking to my 11 herbs and spices in that Kentucky Fried Drengin. It's only a matter of how fast I can mop it up. Unless of course that dreaded fundie junk gets in my way.

1. That, or let Ais buy them, too. (Would make things hellishly difficult.) :)
2. Absolutely.
3. I think realistic maintenance (~Battleship) would solve that.

Did you notice they´ve stopped updating the Galactic Map? Server difficulties, or are they scared by the unstoppable rise of G.R.O.S.S.? :D

Stardate 2178. Settled on a Large Map, Loose Clusters, Habitable Planets Common.

Enemy race leaders are reported Geniuses: Pure Good Drengin Crusaders, Moderately Good Altarian Union and Arcean League, Pure Evil Yor Pirates and Torian Cannibals.

Terra is ruled by the Technocratic Syndicate: Technologist Party, 5x Speed, 4x Research, 1x Trade. Giving us:

+50% Research
+10% Trade
+1 Speed
+1 Sensors

The Syndicate´s Great Plan is as follows:

-Good is too strong in this Galaxy. They may want to establish a consensus regime incompatible with Human predominance. This must be avoided.

-We will covertly support the Evil races until they are successful at signifantly weakening the Good races, perhaps taking one out entirely.

-At this point, we will join the Anti-Evil Crusade, eradicating the Torians and Yor entirely.

-Order and Justice restored, we will bring our culture to the surviving remnants of the Good races, in a Humanitarian Mission to enlighten them to the benefits of our Dominion.

The Server indeed genuinely went out. You see Frogboy was sweating so profusely at the mighty G.R.O.S.S. empire being right behind his, he watered out the motherboard on that server. :) Yup. thats what I think.

We don't need no stinkin' map to show us the path. The way is forward, ho! Besides, some idiot would just hold the map upside-down anyway. ;)

I tend to disagree. The AI has a better economy and would just about always get the early trade goods. If they are so good to have, perhaps make them a touch more expensive to buy. In v1.35 they seem to earn heaps of money in a trade. Then, it gives one harder choices, ie do you try to build the tradegoods, or buy them? I like choices.
There is wastage in setting sliders too high.
Brad is looking at the starbase issue isn't he? Hiis preferred solution seems to be a tax on starbases.

G.R.O.S.S. is the most active community in this forum. We will soon have more replies than the bug report thread. LOL

Another clear sign of GROSS success. :)

Coffee, you can hardly post ANOTHER post (upping the number) in order to say that a lot of posts are posted.

Is it just me, or are the number of threads expanding out-of-control? :notsure:
