Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

The scoreboard is going to be a bit different now. Score inflation is the policy, so anyone submitting the new 1.05 games is going to quickly shoot up. I feel like I was playing an old style pinball machine where you got one point for hitting the bumpers and now we are all playing the newer machines with digital readouts and 1,000 point bumpers.

As for CM, he just wants some scoring justice. If the root data is all there, and a standard is now set, why not put all those old games through and put everyone on a more equal level? But, that does not seem to fit in with the grand plan. The grand plan calls for rewarding people who take their chances with the betas. It just makes me cringe though when I think about killer noobs on cakewalk scoring thousands and thousands of points when back in my day as a newbie on simple games it was 50 points. Food for thought there.

I'd say you're right Gunner. And I'd say also that once the expansion comes out and they get a truly permanant formula down, then, and only then will they go through and standardize. If not, they at least ought to give you the option of dropping em. or keeping em. I think that would be fair. Because although I do like to keep a record for posterity. I have no real frame of reference to compare those nerfed scores to these.

I'm afraid, however, that old games you didn't play all the wy through are now lost. Unless you like saving after every move. Crash Crash Crash. Dang. I had some real fun shoot em ups going too. Yuk.

An update. It's just plain too tedius for me to play Gigantic with the Guvs not working. So I'm seeding a couple Gigants and then saving. I'm choosing to play through a medium. That's enough non guv tedium for me. Happy Gaming. Don't take squat from those Aliens. You know what to do.

Well, I've tried very hard not to be miffed at the new scoring system. When Frog described it, it sounded fair and it seemed to reward steady, 'build up the infrastructure' players (like me) as well as players who played the maso games (like Staffa and RayChua) and the volume players (like Sergey). But- my 18 games seem a little pointless now. It has certainly rained on my parade. *kerchink* [1,000 points deducted] *shrugs* and thinks, what does it matter?

Pontius: You just have that never say die attitude! You've held that Bronze for over 5 hours now! But, not quite as good as Suzie who has her Silver forever.

Taxes paid. Chalk up another one for the team. Makes my record look totally weird, though. An old 1.35 game reads challenging, small, culture conquest: 34 points. The latest game reads tough, small, military conquest: 3990 points. :SURPRISED:

Now I am going to have feelings of inadequacy when some killer 1.05 noob comes along and posts 10,000 points on cakewalk on a small map... :p

Anyway, time to upgrade to see what the newer, neater stuff is. Let's keep #1 for the number one empire, GROSSers.

And you know Chris, they have a good score version, the nerf it down. They then don't score right, or nerfing one thing causes the ratios between size/difficulty to go haywire. They come out with a new version. It scores big, they nerf it down later. Yada Yada Yada on and on and on. I sometimes think we're back to the original system again!!!! :) Around and around we go. I just keep playing the best I can, put a few changes in when I notice something scores vs not and go from there. I'm playing sort of an experimental game to look at that now.

Just wish I could play faster and pump those games out.

Looks like my words come to haunt me. A new player posted a simple huge alliance victory worth 10,504 points. Got to the #18 spot in one shot. I know I said 10K on cakewalk on a small map, but this is getting close enough! Looks like the only way to fight this besides complaining about the injustice to old players is to play harder!

I dont know, I expected about 15k for the game, got 8k
and it reported ingame as 159k cause it still needed
to be ^.75.

Other then that, dunno, its clearly not the 1.05 method

I think I will hold off till the fix comes out later today. I have some games to finish anyway and though everyone else seems able to finish partially finished games cross version, I cannot. CRASH is my result. Unfortunately, I had been working 4 or 5 good shoot em up games a lil at a time. But these are now lost. And I don't wish to lose the ones I have started under this version again. I'll put up with no guvs for 3 games more.

I just hate games where the score posted to you isn't your score. It's tough to compare a frame of reference. I did a couple things different this game vs my last med (It scored 13k or so) and will see how it comes out when I'm done.

Fixes are in, btw milking is still very powerful.

At least at the higher difficulties.
