Captain Jack Sparrow Captain Jack Sparrow

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

G.R.O.S.S. Where being good is merely a temporary strategy.

Just win baby.

Here's your ration of skin you do gooder wimp Drengin slime. Now get back to work

EBZeroMatrix you have been made a senator.

I repeat. Cringe in fear, we come for you.

...Jaws - you said it right in the FOTR thread, bro

You have that right Wombie. Although the course of action Jaws suggested may not be possible with that one.

"GSS KFD to base. My holds are about full. I might have to leave some behind. I have 33 billion fried Drengins awaiting the special sauce. And that was just from one planet. Will return shortly. I'm buying(err bringin). Over."

The GSS KFD has docked for the work day. I'll start another one tomorrow here at work. Tonight, I'll consider moving up in difficulty. Is there any difference in the strategy employed between beginner and normal? Right now here is the strategy I am using:

#1. Rush to all good planets available.
#2. Rush to all the resources.
#3. Research a few levels of tech and attempt to bankrupt the AIs so I can get as many of the trade goods and wonders.
#4. Once they are bankrupt, build up social stuff using the governor.
#5. Build trade routes to the minors.
#6. As they start to come out of bankruptcy, research more and bankrupt them more.
#7. Since I can rarely get them to just revolt even with subvert >100, I usually just attack one system and then make peace for a few planets. Then attack and take the rest.
#8. Repeat as no one has any money to field a defense.

That's about right on beginner. On normal watch yourself, the Minors get better at their economy as do the majors. You'll have to check to make sure they stay bankrupt. The Scottinga's esspecially like to sneak that one wonder out from under you (buying it with 1 positive credit and bankrupting itself again in the process)

bpleshek, I would suggestd you check out my GCCG for additional strategies, you can find the link on the GCCG thread, or click here http://ebzeromatrix.tripod.com

Worth a look - you can crank out 10k games pretty easily - although you really need to be good rather than evil. I've been getting 8k games with all AI's set good and playing evil, and 10k the other way round!

I'd agree with that, arobertson. I've topped 12k with games when I can reach the end of the tech tree and get everything "just so". Haven't quite worked out optimal population or speed of victory yet - how MUCH colony rushing you do at the start DOES affect how the game pans out. While you can obviously win with a single planet start, you need to build a decent PQ base for research, which will ultimately drive a max point score.

I have beat games using the GCCG with just having one PQ 16 planet...it took a little while longer....but my alignment is evil, which is the way for a true cranker to ever achieve a 15 min game.

Apparently there was a small hiccup in the system over the last several hours. Nobody could access the site.

The site was down for a long while. It's not functioning all that speedily now either.

(Gerakken somehow gets a vision of the future:)

"The Book of GROSS, page 1001. And lo, there were 25,000 posts. Threadzilla was truly a fat beast, but was no longer fast, powerful, and muscular. Obesity had made her a sedentary creature. Her once nutritious diet had become one of post counters."

(Gerakken snaps out of the prophetic vision. Scary, very scary.)
