Captain Jack Sparrow Captain Jack Sparrow

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

G.R.O.S.S. Where being good is merely a temporary strategy.

Just win baby.

Here's your ration of skin you do gooder wimp Drengin slime. Now get back to work

EBZeroMatrix you have been made a senator.

I repeat. Cringe in fear, we come for you.

EBZeroMatrix,

I have used an earlier version of your strategy(somewhere in the early 300-400 in this thread). Works well. I'd like to add a few suggestions.

Might want to mention the potential for anomalous scores when your bank gets high. See a few posts above to read my store(Someone will have to walk the plank). If applicable, add that they should purchase a bunch of stuff for cash just before the last turn to drop down your bank. I've had mine as high as 40k. The more I try it the higher it gets. So I've adopted this remedy.

Might want to have a list of techs NOT to sell. If this has been done in the most recent version, I apologise. I haven't been to read it in a few.

good job,

B

I tend to start with the general one: [email protected]

Others here may know specific individuals, but my queries are usually dealt with very effectively going straight there.

Good luck!

Nope, the strategy is here to stay. Though I'll post some news on it as it happens to me as well.

I don't think its the money, but something else that Cari mentioned to me that I forgot. Something about a cheat flag being tripped. She never got into detail to what tripped it. I'll find out sometime soon. Other than that we'll just have to wait for a patch to come out.

Just be careful and keep on crrranking!!! (and killing them altarian bastards :D )

Have you actually tried a pure good game yourself?

Hey! Stop channelling that!

To paraphrase Clint Eastwood, a Jedi's got to know his limitations. Getting EBZ to play an entire game - say, 20 minutes - without doing ANYTHING evil, kissing Altarians and two-headed little fuzzy bunnies alike...nope, not gonna happen.

Wombat,

I sent off my request to the email you gave me. Hopefully, they will restore it to its proper place.

EBZ,

Of course your strategy stays, I was just commenting on what happened to me by using it. I was proposing a solution at endgame to perhaps remove the possibility of an anomaly.

Cypher Pax made his report:

'My Fellowship Critics campaign was a failure. In the end, I couldn't tell the difference between by hapless band of rules lawyers and Fellowship Overlords. The overlords were able to sneak up on me and expel me - and they kept the critics. The Fellowship has put them to work lobbying Stardock on scoring and the metaverse. The only good thing that may come of this is that the critics are trying to good their overlords into believing that only Maso and Crippling victories count for anything...'

Are the Fellowship the next undead menace? Despite our best efforts to get them to respond, the few still on the boards only seem interested in scoring/game play (with the exception of Theoden & Cotal). What happened to their RPG? I guess I DON'T have to read their thread.

Let me know if they wake up... perhaps we could create a story for them.
Are they all under the thrall of the ring like the ring wraiths?

Cypher

The Book of GROSS, page 91: And so the great menace called the Fellowship of the Ring caused much dismay to the pirates. To combat this menace, one of their mightiest champions, EBZ, set forth with his battle cry: "Crank on!" :)

You guys are great! Hey, if you are interested, the newest installment of Fellowship News is out!

I think the Fellowship is just going through a little lull in conversation right now. We'll be back to our chatty little selves in a few days! :D

This is a copy of a post Frogboy made in the CariElf Fanclub site:

Right now Cari is working on a 3D engine that could be used by some future game we make.
Imagine being able to play GalCiv where you could zoom in and out and units moved fluidly.
I wonder how many major games have a female as a lead programmer?

Sounds interesting! Good old CariElf.
