Captain Jack Sparrow Captain Jack Sparrow

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

G.R.O.S.S. Where being good is merely a temporary strategy.

Just win baby.

Here's your ration of skin you do gooder wimp Drengin slime. Now get back to work

EBZeroMatrix you have been made a senator.

I repeat. Cringe in fear, we come for you.

Getting EBZ to play an entire game - say, 20 minutes - without doing ANYTHING evil, kissing Altarians and two-headed little fuzzy bunnies alike...nope, not gonna happen.

Heh, thanks for clarifying that ;)

Of course your strategy stays, I was just commenting on what happened to me by using it. I was proposing a solution at endgame to perhaps remove the possibility of an anomaly.
End of quote

Well I am working on getting it fixed. I still don't have much of a problem...since they are so short, I don't care if I get one or two anomalous scores....ohhh 15 more min and I have another score posted LOL

Oooo...Cypher. The Fellowship being overtaken by Undead. This has great story potential.....

The Book of GROSS, page 91: And so the great menace called the Fellowship of the Ring caused much dismay to the pirates. To combat this menace, one of their mightiest champions, EBZ, set forth with his battle cry: "Crank on!"
End of quote

Thanks...guess I need to start cranking someday as well... LOL

Rings of the Metaverse

re Undeadenization of the Fellowship. The prophecy and doctrine on this is quite clear please reffer to below . . .

"Three Rings for the Pirate-Kings under the Southern sky,
A further Seven rings for the GROSS dwarf lords drinking Jack Daniels and Rye,
Nine for the Jedi Masters all doomed to eat apple pie,
And one ring for the not so Wandering Lord comfy on his throne in the Land of Metador where the Shadows lie.

One Ring to fool them all,
One Ring to dine them,
One Ring to intoxicate them all and in the darkness try and find them!
In the Land of Metador where the Shadows lie."

. . . Ok Ok so I changed a couple words :SURPRISED:

The frightening thing is, that first stanza reminds me of the song "American Pie." NOT THE MOVIE; the song.

Hey fellas, we're 30K down. Perhaps zilla has had more food than the Balrog thread?

Thanks Wild Wombat, it's my first really serious literary effort . . . and what appeals to me even more is that all I had to do was take a classic and replace a few words here and there . . . hehehehe.

I'm working on another one, plagerism is fun! :D

Balrog's just full of a lot of hot air most the time, I wouldn't worry about it. You should see him off-set and away from the camera! He's quite the little home maker! LOL

LOL LOL Well, My Fair Lady has given me a few stories. I think A Sound of Music is fertile grounds for plagiarism too. Specially with all those children...hmmm.

Hehe, nice one Cotal! That inspired me to plagarize some scripts directly, instead of just letting my fingers type trash for a few pages :-p

All I have to do now is pick the right script...

How does Gerakken know
End of quote

Because it is Gerakken's job to know these things. (It is also helpful when the page breaks are set at 25 posts each page and I happen to be in the right place at the right time.) :p

Ah, is that Fellowship talk I heard earlier? Their newest member is called Darkhold. Maybe it is a good time to go into why an empire roughly 80% our player size can go head to head with us.

The Fellowship has 42 members (39 with scores) that average 1968.51 points per game and 16.12 games per player.

GROSS has 52 members (45 with scores) averaging 1767.07 points per game and 14.21 battles per player. If GROSS members played the same number of games per player as the Fellowship while keeping the GROSS average score per game, our projected score would be 1,481,228. If we met both the average score per game and the number of games per player, it would be 1,6500,083.

Sure, both empires have inactive players and old version scores dragging the average score down, but they are also getting more residual points per inactive member than we are.

I am not one to hide from the facts. The Fellowship plays more games per player at harder levels than we do. They are simply more determined. Since will determines who rules the Meta, there is no mystery why both empires currently see-saw with each other over the top spot despite our numerical advantage in members.

not to mention that the X ANZACS make a difference to their scores... They both wouldn't be where they are today if it wasn't for their Training while they were active membrs in the ANZACS..

That is a crock. No one in their right mind would claim the Angels were more determined to win the World series last year than the Giants. The Giants lost because of a bad pitching move by their manager. Nothing more, nothing less. He made a mistake. Doesn't mean he wasn't determined to win.

And I do take issue with someone who's posted two games in the last month talking to the rest of us about determination. That's sort of like Edward Alphonso telling Barry Bonds he isn't trying hard enough isn't it?

Staffa appears retired. No doubt it is hard to lose the Barry Bonds of Galciv to retirement. And that is the analogy. He was dominant. No one could touch him. Were he here we'd be well ahead. But he's not.

Many of us have been taking up some of the slack. You may not be proud of this team but I am. We're where no one thought we had a chance to be. We've come back time after time after time when no one expected we would. And we will again. I don't have to hope for it. I know it. Good going Gang. Now lets get to work.

Furthermore, Average per game is meaningless as a measuring stick because it is autocorrelated with your proportion of pre-1.05 games posted.
Only 3 of the top 15 average wise have such a proportion above 20. That is Me, Ray, and Staffa. I am the highest at #4. Staffa's at #14. The Ringworms have a high number right up near the top in average all with low percentages of pre 1.05 games (most with zero %)

Yes, It's a good thing we and the Ringworms got all the good Anzacs and left you behind. ;) LOL ;p

Oops. Not only did I miss the page, I really torqued the boss. Hey, I did not diss my team, but there comes a time for a reality check. I just find it kind of interesting that I get this perception of "oh, those wicked wizards are still troubling us, why?" so I simply said why.

Yow! Yeah, Pontius got kinda pissed about that. Look, the fact is G.R.O.S.S. and the Fellowship are both rockin'! Whether there are fewer players playing in one empire or higher average players, or whatever, the lead keeps swinging back and forth. Keep on playing! Reasons don't matter. Results do! :)
