G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

G.R.O.S.S. Where being good is merely a temporary strategy.

Just win baby.

Here's your ration of skin you do gooder wimp Drengin slime. Now get back to work

EBZeroMatrix you have been made a senator.

I repeat. Cringe in fear, we come for you.

Hi Pontius,

Previously you mentioned that you had problems with the Universalist party. Instead of using the stock configuration you can modify any party, ie the War party, to whatever attributes you want (ie +luck, + PQ, + attack). So with the bonus pack configuration ability it renders the stock party configurations somewhat unimportant. It is possible I am not understanding some intricacy, but I always modify my base party configuration to something more fun. Anyway i guess i am saying that you don't have to choose Universalist to get those attributes.

Trelane.. Just got back from Diner. Did your register your player with the metaverse? That is seperate from the registration here in the forum. I think the reg link is at the top of the page.

After you reg your player, then you sign up for the empire. We're showing open so you should be able to get in. but just in case, I'll edit the empire, and make sure.

Pontius, did you read the Declaration of Something-or-other on Lap Poodles' thread? Good grief. I actually felt like hugging him and everyone.

And of-course, I for one commiserate with you on losing your very large game. On-the-other-hand, check out my sparklers which I just got (especially the grey cross with... I think its a self-gratulatory handshake). :D

Oh I read it. Typical dry self-important Impune Drivel. HEHE. Ahhhh Come on people now, smile on your brother everybody get to gether try to love one another right now... Uggh puke. Now lets go hug a Torian. Sheesh.

I thought I'd been barred from the game due to overly disruptive conduct while Frogboy was away

I was beginning to think that of myself. Particularly, I was beginning to think they didn't know Misty Hymen was indeed a swimmer and we were just being pornographic. I've always been told by my international swimming buddies I'd fit right in with the racous Aussies. :)

I lost one due to anomoly. I have the proof it's legit, so I'll be getting those 5200 points back.

I lost another due to a crash. It wont reload. It was about 3/4 the way through too.

But you too should feel the joy of the Universalist party. Guess I should read the bug threads.

Un update from your guide in Galaxy Gamma Delta.

The Torians have been dominant in every Galaxy I've been assigned. Well thanks to your's truly, not this time. I took the speed advantage and researched to impulse drives right out of the chute. I have successfully hemmed them in to about 5 planets thanks to my ships being twice as fast!!! My citizens gave friendly waves as they flew on by. Several mooned em. No indication of what the Torians thought of that yet. Though they don't seem pleased we took planets. How arrogant of them. They were clearly ours. Anyway, the Torians won't be much to thwart my evil plans this time. We will begin harvesting them for Sushi in our Sushi Hut franchises (very popular with the drengin) soon. This Galaxy promises to be fertile ground for the G.R.O.S.S. empire.

"It's not like you have to do anything truly evil to be called evil in this game. Anything you choose on those choices that benefits ya, gets ya slapped with the evil tag."

Yeah, it´s interesting. And backstabbing does *not* make You Evil. I can backstab and warmonger to my heart´s content, causing billions and billions casualties, and get still classified Chaotic Good. LOL

And these people call our empire evil. HEHE.

Oh yeah, and I won my game on Crippling. And all I got was a lousy 121 pts. LOL

I have this Evil theory that the score system is designed to demotivate you winning on high difficulty to make the Ai look better. ;p

(Have to admit the Ai on Genius is quite good, though. Not really Geniuses, but at least Competents. The only thing they are bad at is invasions.)

Wooohooo!!! Welcome aboard Trelane. There was an omnipotant character from Star Trek with that name.

(Have to admit the Ai on Genius is quite good, though. Not really Geniuses, but at least Competents. The only thing they are bad at is invasions.)

I've noticed that. Not even the Drengens have not taken advantage of any of those evil planet invasion tactics. I think the computer see's the planet as more
valuable intact. I'll use the ones that destroy improvements, but not the ones that cost pq.

Man 121. That stinks

Coffee. try a small or medium galaxy. It's not much bigger. I'm curious as to how much of a difference one size can make. And it definitely looks still like Huge and Gigantic just plain get more points. And alot moe (Of course they take longer too)

It's incredibly hard to balance a 25 (5 x 5) sector galaxy vs a 24 x 24 sector

I catapulted into the Top 25 and got a shiny new medal (which now appears on ALL previous posts) by playing a sensible large map (7,630 points). I only had to milk for 30 minutes or so (unlike that another chap who got 26,000 or whatever by milking for 10 hours).

Coffee: If you can't win on crippling or at least painful you are just not trying. Fortunately, G.R.O.S.S. is not about winning or scoring.

Huh? What are you talking about? :notsure:

I *DID* win on crippling, that was my point. (But I only got 121. Painful/medium, I got about 300, which isn´t much, either.)

I have never even played below average. But I am annoyed that one can get 1000s of pts for simple/beginner games. >:(

And if strategy games are not about winning, about what else are they? ;p

Your post fails to make sense to me; quite apart from the fact of being a bit underhanded, implying I "can´t win on crippling" when you needed to just click on my name to see I can. :notsure:

And have you recently become a member of G.R.O.S.S., lecturing me what it is or isn´t about? LOL

It's amazing to see how people that aren't even in G.R.O.S.S. come here and tell you guys how it should be.

10 hours, gesh your evil :)

It was only 4 hours!

Evil never triumphs, you will all succumb to the
awesome culture of goodness!

I just need to find an empire first.

Coffee, sheesh, are you a "European" by any chance? My sarcasm gets me into HEAPS of trouble, and I KNOW that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. I would NEVER intentionally insult or even mildly disturb a G.R.O.S.S. person. At least EBZM is on your side.

Some quick comments:
1. In the Southern Hemisphere we say that "If you are not number one, you have lost".
2. Nonetheless, I think that everyone is a winner in their own small way. You (and everyone who plays the game) at ANY level are certainly competent at this game.
3. I regularly misquote for dramatic effect. Just ask Pontius.
4. My understanding is that at Crippling, the economic model is 'even' between AI civs and Human. At lesser difficulties, the AI is programmed to 'not notice' when the Human does something like build a culture starbase next to their capitol. At Masochistic, the economic model is severely prejudiced against the Human.
5. When learning the game, a handicap is cool.
6. I apologise if I overstepped the mark. Put it down to me being over-excited at cracking the Top 25 thru playing cheesy version 1.20. Forgive me?

:sniff!:

Have you ever even CONTEMPLATED visiting the Southern Hemisphere. If so, join the ANZACs.
