Our Galaxy Is Bigger Than We Thought

Scientists at the University of Sydney have calculated that our galaxy is twice as thick at it's center as previously thought. Until now it was commonly thought that the galaxy is about 6,000 light years thick. The calculations of these scientists, using data easily obtained from the internet, find that's it's actually about 12,000 light years thick.

I believe that decades from now scientists will discover planets,  stars,,  and more in space than we ever thought possible.  To my way of thinking it'll be similiar to "A HitchHiker's Guide to the Universe,  with space going further and further...

Well they are already starting to discover planets orbiting other stars. Mathematically the odds are good that there are billions of planets out there.
