relation between frames and interval

hi frnds
can ne1 tell me wats the relation between frames and interval when creating an animated dx object... ie.. if my image has 4 frames wat shud be the interval in milliseconds..... and so on with 5, 50 etc...

It depends on how fast you want the animation to play.
Trial and error works for me.
