Wrong icons

When I use IP (latest varsion) under XP Pro (SP2) the icons for my DVD drives don't change. They just remain as windows default icons. I've tried everything but I don't know what's wrong. No matter what icon package I apply, all the icons change just fine, except the DVD icons. It's really driving me mad! I don't have this problem under Vista Home Premium. Can anyone jelp, please?

My CD/DVD icon under XP SP2 won't change either. As I usually have a disk in it doesn't bother me but I can't change the .url file icon either. Can you change that one under XP? I don't have Vista so I don't know how it works in that environment.

try resetting the icon to default then reboot, then setting it manually in IP using Individual drive mode then reboot again.  also try Rebuild Icon Cache in the "tools" menu this some times resets the Icon cache and allows the new Icon to be implemented. you can also right click on the drive an in Properties/ Icon tab, you can try to manually set the drive as well as rebuild the icon cache there.

Thanks for your suggestions. I tried everything you mention but no luck. This problem appeared recently-about 15 days ago. Before that, everything worked just fine. Please if you come up with any solution, post.
Thanks again.

EDIT-Well, all I had to do is restore the IP archive version 3.20a(rc)033 from sdc and now everything works just fine. I have XP Pro SP2 installed. Of course, this is a temporary solution to the problem. I hope the people at Stardock will have fixed this when the final version is released.

Geoptin same thing happened to me. I'm running XP Professional SP2 along with the latest IP. I was trying to install the Alienware XenoMorph Suite. All of the icons loaded correctly except the CD/ROM or DVD drive. I did it manually and it worked, but the problem is I cant rememeber how I did it:( When I had played with it some more, I noticed that ALL the icons were screwed up (some just had directory folders on them).

OK, I think I got it! If you go into IP, Click on ICONS & CURSORS. Right below that, select DRIVES and the select INDIVIDUAL DRIVE MODE. This lists your actual drives. Selcet the drive you want to change and Click the CHANGE THIS ICON... After you've done this, a green check mark appears beside the icon you are attempting to change. You must click APPLY MY CHANGES in order for it to take effect. Lemme know how it works for you:)

Didn't work for me but thanks for posting something to try. :)

Right now though I am having bigger problems. I think it is some whonkyness from the new release. I have not seen anyone from SD post in either of these thread so I hope they see them.

Didn't work for me either. It seems that the latest version of Ip isn't quite right for XP SP2. Our only hope is that the guys at Stardock will read our mails and do something about it.
