WHAT THE HELL is wrong with people today?

WHAT THE HELL is wrong with people today?

Here's the deal.  I'll get directly to the point.  I act mean alot online, and it's mainly due to all the shit I take being a nice guy...

Sounds ironic/idiotic?  Read up:

I went to a CVS pharmacy for my medicine, said hi to some guy, who turns to his friends and waves hand movements like I'm gay.

Nevermind that I was saying hi to everyone else.

HOW THE HELL did being nice turn inot being gay for the average macho idiot?

Personally, if you ask me the reason these macho idiots are friends and yet call nice guys gay certainly implies something about their life...

Yesterday I went on a TF2 server, told a guy to respect a lady, and not treat them like a piece of meat, and him and his team called me a faggot, and began to target me directly.

Lemme say this:  When a guy tries to defend a lady who your more powerful then, and you call him a fagoot, something si HORRIBLY wrong with you.

Worst thing is these types of idiots bring out the worst in everyone.  Anger begets anger, hate begets hate.

When these fucking morons take what I try to do nicely and spit at me, sometimes, I just wish all of these idiots died suddenly.

The thing is, I'm a human.  When you give kindness and an idiot rejects it, emotions kick in.

I have feelings.  I care if people say stupid shit to me and others.  This is obviously something lost on these macho idiots.

I'm 53. Btw, I've had women glare at me, grab their children or purses, and even pull the door out of my hand.So much for chivalry. ;p

I'll say one final thing I must get off my chest.

I'm not gonna ask anymore things, so I'll just say it:

I wouldn't exactly need to change, or ignore things, if I'm talking online about it, which, if someone had intelligence, would realize I did ignore it in real life :D

Because generally speaking, if I didn't ignore it, I wouldn't have all this on my chest to talk about.

Generally speaking, if you get mad and don't let a person know, you end up holding in anger. The fact that I'm acting angry shows this.

But don't tell that to the people who respect and honor people.

I hear ya, Wizard...

Case in point:

I held a door open for a woman who was walking into the same shopping mall I was going into. I smiled politely as she was about to pass by.

She looked me square in the eye, and with a disgusting sneer said: "What are you after?" [Indicating that I perhaps wanted sexual favours for holding a bloody door open]

With mouth agape, stunned and shocked, I pushed her back out and pulled the door shut.

So, yeah ...

So much for chivalry.

I meant this at the beginning to be a conversation, when people tore me down I started ranting, to no one in particular actually.

Just to get my anger off my chest.

People make robotic vacuums, robotic lawn mowers, orobtic maid service.

They need to make a RantBot. You yell at the robot and it says what you want to hear.

You should have already known the answer, since you are part of that broad question.

People have always reacted to those things that don't fit 'their way'.

In regards to the CVS story...

It's been my observations that those that act one way while in a group, don't act the same way when alone.

I've also noticed:

Some 'men' are homophobes who act/react because they view gays as being effeminate and any interest towards them from gays must mean they are also being seen as being effeminate. If a gay hits on them in front of their 'friends' you can be pretty sure their 'friends' will be picking on them for a long time. So generally, they gonna make sure that doesn't happen. Hence the '1st strike'.

Some 'men' react to implications they are gay generally because either it's an affront to their masculinity or they sit in a closet all day questioning it themselves.

Doesn't matter to me who hits on me.... women or men... just backs up what I already know...I'm it.

Everything can be boiled down to 'fight or flight'.

Somebody says something, somebody does something, you see something, you hear something, whatever... do you walk or take a stand?

That would be rhetorical, since...

I can't really change the way I am.

For me, I tend to let my feelings turn to anger. I generally end up in rage against the ones that pissed me off.

I realize I shouldn't let them play me like that, but in the same way, why should I be expected to change?
End of quote

I already know the answer.

So basically you're the guy I see on the highway chasing cars down, flipping off the drivers and trying to run the off them road cause they did something that pissed you off, huh?

Doesn't really matter what the subject is... homophobia or rage... those that suffer from either can always justify it.

Fight or flight.

A real man makes the right decision for the right reasons.

Ignore and suppress don't mean the same thing.

I am old enough to remember a kinder, more gentle time. Some children (imho) are not raised with the values that create a polite, respectful adult. As the twig bends, so the tree grows as my mama used to say. Parents (both mother and father) work and there is no one to take care of the children and teach the kids as they should be taught. When both parents work, the people who take care of the kids, they are just that....caretakers with no authority (or often )to instil any understanding of others, etc.I don't know if the 'political correctness' that seems to be so prevelant (in America anyway) that parents are afraid to punish their children for misbehavior for fear of human services descending on them or whatever. (I am not talking about child abuse here). Teachers are at the mercy of children. If the correct them, they have an irate parent to deal with....everything backed by the law of course. It is a good concept that is not practiced and has turned into a monster....as the children might possibly become when they become adults. I can tell you this, my mother would have beat my butt for misbehavior or rudeness. I had a health respect of my mother. I knew she would follow through with what she said. I think child rearing requires some of this 'healthy respect' to have a kid to mind you. They will push you until they learn what the limits of their behavior are. If they don't have these boundaries, then they careen on through life, not learning anything about how a adult should behave to become a responsible, honest, compassionate citizen.

1. You shouldn't have to take that kind of mindless bullshit from anybody.
2. At the same time as Kenny Rodgers said - Ya gotta know when to hold em' and know when to fold em'. This is because you don't want to get yer ass beat or worse.
3. I agree with you about defending yourself and others. About being yourself. It's just that you have to develop methods to do that without getting killed.
4. The assholes are never gonna change. I'm 56 years old and I speak from experience.
5. Right on to you! Don't give up get smarter! You will learn ways to defeat these morons.

GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND

DK, just remember...little people treat others like shit because the bottom of the barrel is a lonely place to be.

Now to the point.... you cannot expect people to change because they make you feel uncomfortable or insulted. Most people are too wrapped up in their own self-serving mentality to give a shit if your feelings are hurt. It's sad, but that's the way of the world. I don't like it, and it saddens me.

You have a choice to make (along with the rest of us)...... you can live your life as you see fit, not worrying about what the next person thinks about you, or.....you can live your life insulted on a day-to-day basis, hurt and angered by ignorant bigots and assholes.

Me? I choose the former. The only opinions that matter to me are the opinions of the people I love...

Wow!

Guess I was wrong about what type of thread I thought this would be from reading the title.
Yet for some foolish reason I still sat here and read it all. X-(

TheDarkKnight2008: There are just way to many things wrong with your posts to go through and quote them and point out each one.

What it basically comes down to though is this:

You started this post as a way to "vent" and knew it was a public place where you would get various responses. Yet you have a fit about how it should be like going to a counselor which is just a ridiculous expectation.

Plenty of the original responses were not telling you to change who you are but how you handle things. But you decided to put as much of a negative spin on those as you could and reacted badly. You seem to want everyone else in the world to cater to your outlook on life to make you happy, while complaining at the same time that you shouldn't have to change anything about yourself ever.

Also stating that you are stronger, than anyone responding to your post, because of what you have been through in life is another ridiculous statement. You have no idea what any of the responders have been through in their life do you? No so don't act as though you are the only one who has had a tough time in life.

As for "defending" people. In real life that is all well and good and a nice thing to do. But when it comes to doing it online it is not only unnecessary but also foolish to expect to be able to tell people how they should act and not expect them to react negatively. If anyone is being "attacked" online they have the choices of ignoring the people doing it, not returning to the site where it is happening, or responding for themselves. If they choose to stay on a site where people are "treating them badly" then they have chosen that situation for themselves.

To be looking for validation of your own points of view and opinions online and getting upset at anyone who gives any advice or criticism that doesn't fit to exactly what you want to hear just shows that you are obviously insecure with yourself and haven't yet grown up enough to handle life the way you should.

Everyone here has tried to help. You just want to vent. No problem, but heed my advice before you end up a prison or suicide statistic. Your rage is your enemy. Your pain is self chosen. It is not a pefect world and you are not perfect.  :)

I would call it the most terrifyingly funny movie I've ever seen. Funny because, hell, it's really, really funny.

Terrifying because that is the future. It truly is. (:(

"Fear leads to anger, Anger leads to hate, Hate leads to Suffering." - Yoda  (Even older than Jafo and WOM [I think]) ;)

We all make choices that, strung together, make up our lives.  Your current anger gives you great opportunity to recognize, evaluate, and decide how to go forward.  We can talk about that too (and it might be more productive than "WHAT THE HELL is wrong with people today?")
