Mass Effect mod, anyone interested?

Hi! I planned to make Halo mod but i trashed it as i lost my interest in Halo (I can lose my interest fast...)
I started Mass Effect again and i thought that it'd make a great mod for GalCiv 2 (TA).
So is anyone interested making one with me?

I can do tech tree's and plan stuff. I don't know how to use 3dmodelling programs nor how to make textures.
Making new models isn't necessary if someone can make ME styled ships using in game components.
New effects are probably needed.
We also need concepts for turian and asari ship looks as well for many others. Those with artisitic talent are welcomed, even if they don't do anything else. Basically i accept all help i can get.

I think there's anough material, and we can make up our own (placeholder) material.
For example we don't know how turian ships look so we have to imagine something.
And second game can take some time before it comes... 2009 second half i think (just what i think, not based on rumors or anything)
Still, will you help if i get others to make the mod?

It'd be fun to see some of the ships in game. They look simple enough in game to not be a pain to model. Also, you see several Turian, Earth, Asari, and Geth ships in the cut scenes, so you have plenty of material to work with already.

Yeah.

Spoilers if you haven't played the game.

We'll have to use a lot of imagination... some may not accept fanon stuff but that is their problem IMO.
Civs: Systems Alliance (Humans), Turian Hierarchy, Salarian Union, Asari Republic, The Geth (needs a faction name),volus (needs a faction name), elcor (needs a faction name), krogans (needs a faction name), hanar (needs a faction name), batarians (needs a faction name)... That's 10 civs, i think we should try to make two more (doesn't TA have 12 civs?)... Also some of those may have official designation but i don't remember those. EDIT Update: Quarians (having settlet a new planet [fanon], needs a faction name) and because there isn't any living race to fill the void of 12th place, will use rachni there.

And where did you see turian ship?
Only Asari ship in-game is the Destiny Ascension. The ships in the final battle are human ships, and the geth have only dropships there...

ok like i said before if we whant to do ships then where going to have to wait but lets see the Geth are a collective so lets call them that. and i don't think th Krogans should be a major race due to the fact the species is dieing out.

Well if we drop krogans we dont have 12 races. Rachni are effectivly extinct, except one queen. Anywya, the game (TA) starts at year 2227, Mass Effect is in 218something so maybe someone cured the krogans and quarians settlt a planet? as i said, there will be fanon material.

So let's make a correction: Mass Effect based mod? One thing i don't want to do is making a completetly new race, i'd rather use Protheans and Reapers...
But then i think we should get more people, make a mod team to I-mod and discuss plans there.

Slight Spoilers...

You see turian and asari ships in the end cutscene, and probably every other cutscene that shows the citadel. Perhaps the Destiny Ascension is the only Asari vessel, but I thought there were more. It's been awhile since I've played, excluding the 0/30 random item grinds, it was a lot of fun but didn't hold my attention for too long.

You see the Turian ships near the end, Sovereign rams one of them I believe. The Turians are similar looking but still very different from the Terran Arcturus Fleet that jumps in whenever you told them to.

There isn't enough to build a whole fleet on, as there are only 1 to 3 or so ships per major race shown, but I doubt you'll get enough canon ships even after the entire trilogy is released, as there is little focus on space combat so far and unless the mechanics change there won't be much focus on it later either, short of more cutscenes with a small handful of additional ships.

Actually, in the cutscene where you first see the Citadel, there are some ships that aren't human ships (IMO) but maybe turian.

ME Codex gives following ship classifications:
Dreadnought (this would huge hull)
Cruiser (large)
Frigate (medium)
Fighter (anti-capital fighter, i'd say small)
Interceptor (anti-figter, i'd say tiny)
Also there was Carrier but GalCiv2 doesn't have carriers... we could call Huge ships with fleet bonus modules (tulon weapon focus/it's mass effect version if there's one) a carrier.

Also here's backround story (i may and will change it, we'll just "retcon" stuff in the mod)

it's 2227 (hardcoded to game, darn). The Reaper War ended a bit over 40 years ago. Quarians have settled a new planet with help from human Alliance. Krogans are nearing breakthrough for the cure to the genophage. Citadel has been destroyed. Citadel council still exist, but in different form. All races are allowed to take part (replaces UP). The geth have started to contact other races peacefully... but they aren't trusted after what happened in the Reaper War.
The Reapers have been defeated but their legacy remains... they were developing a super weapon capable destroying entire star systems. So far no one has been able to reverse engineer the technology... but it's only matter of time. And with mass relays destroyed or being lost in deep space, due Reapers efforts to destroy galactic civilization by slowing traveling and communication when they understood being close to their own destruction, it's easy to research the weapon in secrecy...

There's no way to implement mass relays in game so i decided that they shouldn'y exist anymore, except for a few that are lost. This way we can change the wormhole model to a mass relay that brokes down after using.

Hmm this could work but Starbase Area of effect is too big. I mean you can't use a mass relay from 10 ly distant... you have to be within 100 km or so.

Yeah there's enough material... and minors are easy enough (i've got a plan(t)).

Certainly. We'll make new tech trees for each race. Because all tech is based on mass effect, the tech trees will be similar though. Differences are easy to see in specific areas, IE salarians will have good espionage, turians have good military and asari have biotic techs (what they do? no idea yet).

Bloodshield, you're in, but don't be surprised if the real work doesn't start yet.

Uh? Gotta check the editors... you see i got an idea how to implement the mass relays.
All we need is a star base which AOE is 1 square around it and the SB would give 25movement points for ships that are on a square next the starbase, next turn ofc.

Not so fast. My computer's messed up currently and i have to call support.. something to be done. I like the idea to have a modyard but i'm not currently playing GC at all, or anything on this computer. I'm not sure we should start the work yet..
But then if we don't start, we never get to do anything.
