Submit scores - Alias - Name - Nickname - Player's Name

This may help people to submit their scores, so I post it as a separate subject.

To submit your scores you need to know your alias (plus your e-mail that you used when you get registered in the metaverse).

The alias is one of these things:
a. Your name (during registration in the metaverse).
b. Your nickname (during registration in the metaverse).
c. You player's name (you have to do this separetly from registration - use the link at the top of the metaverse "register as a player").

Does anyone know which of the above 3 things is your alias? I believe it is your nickname.

New players should set up all three to the same thing so they do not have to worry about all these.

I wish they had a section explaining all these. Plus another section where you can edit your registration information so you can change all these (the only thing it matter actually is your user ID which is a number).

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Just go to Stardock, under skins you can modify your account. Just make the nickname to be the same with your player name and you will not have any problems.

Your alias should match your "Player Name" EXACTLY. Remember to use spaces/underscores if you have them in your player name. Nobody seems to be sure if it's case-sensitive - it's best to play it safe.

Your nickname is just an ID tag used here on the forums and in the Metaverse. You can change it as often as you like without affecting past or future submissions as long as you use the same alias (player name) when you submit.

You can change most of this information, including your nickname, at:

http://www.wincustomize.com

Log in at the top of the page using your GalCiv logon information - that's your email address and the password that you chose when you registered the game. You'll be welcomed with your current GalCiv nickname to show that you've been recognized. Click on "Edit Account" on the menu bar at the top of the page to access your account.

It's probably best to just use this to change your nickname. If you DO choose to change your player name, it MAY wreak havoc with your past scores, so be warned.

Good luck, and good gaming!
