Star Wars: A New Era

Star Wars: A New Era is a mod for TA. It takes place in an alternative timeline created by time travel. 

The races are: Galactic Empire,  United Rebel Union,  Corellian Resistance, Naboo Confederation, Hutt Cartal,  Zann Consotrium, Droid Separtist Movement, Mandalorian Empire, Jedi Refuge,  Bounty Hunter Refuge,  Pirate Star Empire, Galactic Star Coltalation.

I'd like to hear everybody's ideas.

 I need,
1. Someone to work on the tech trees.
2. Someone to design and work on the interface.
3. Someone who know hows to texture planets

Actually it takes place in an alternative timeline which was created by altering the time space continum. Here is what happens, the Imperials travel back in time and assinate most of the Senate Members that form the Rebal Alliance except, Bail Organa who with the help of the a group of Rebals who went back in time, manages to get most of the Imperial Senate to help fight the Empire and form a cotalation but instead of the Rebal Alliance, they call it the United Rebal Union and the members of the Rebal Union destroy the Death Star plans before it could be constructed, thus instead of the Battle of Yavin, the events of the New Era campign take place. Both the Empire and Rebal Union are the most powerful civilizations in the Galaxy. The first battle between the Rebal Union and Empire is known as the Battle of Alderaan. So the era it takes place in is called ABA and thus is why this mod is called A New Era.

Actually the current Star Wars Mod allows all the factions to exist. There was an idea to create races instead of factions. I already have the version where its: Old Republic, Galactic Republic, Galactic Empire, Rebel Alliance, New Republic, Jedi Order, Hutts, Sith Empire, and the Trade Federation. If it was races then: Wookiees, Corellians, Humans, Mon Calamari, Bothans, Chiss, Nautolan, Rodians and Sullustians. Respectively you can add races as minor races while factions are major races. There was also an idea for a Force Sensitive groups.

You should really stop by I-Mod Productions and see what's going on there. We have been developing a Star Wars Total Conversation Mod for nearly 2 years now.

The question is directed at you, the others and myself are busy. You can either work out a mod on your own or come to I-Mod and check what's going on there. Unless you have a website and a team with plans and such then I'd like to see.

AF_Ronin is helping me with the logos and the ship styles. I have an I-Mod acount but I don't use it anymore.

So I am guessing that your going to create ships with the jewels in game? Is so since your changing the time line will the ships still be the same, IE will the Rebel Union have x-wings or something else? If so, just as a friendly suggestion, you might want to create hull types that conform to the traditional views of Star Wars, IE a Rebel hull type, Republic and so on so if someone wants they can play with them, would help you appeal to a bigger audiance. But that is up to you really.

I am really excited to hear that Ronin is helping out, between the two of you, you guys make great in game ship designs and I am looking forward to seeing my beloved ISD made with in game parts. I have used models imported in the past but asked any TC team any they will tell you its a huge drain on memory to use outside models unless you really know what you are doing. Kind of why I am moving away from it, perhaps custom jewels is a better idea but that neither here nor there.

Also Master U has a point if you want we can pull our weight together, you make a good point our mod has had an, let say extended development schedule. But we may already have some of the things you need done. Or have someone that can get it done for you, saving time and letting you focus energies else where on the mod. Really, I would be happy just to see a good working Star Wars mod.

Also would you consider maybe staring simple maybe just creating hull packs kinda like how the Federation and Empire mod has been a growing project which I think has done a great job of building excitement for itself over the last few weeks. I really think that Ronin is on to something there. Tons of feedback no long waits and it has generated a huge amount of support for the mod. I was really trying to do the same thing a was back myself.

Actually I was going to suggest that you do the same. Start making the ships and post them. That gives the people the chance to have some fun with them while they wait for the full thing. I'll still turn them into working player usable shipstyles if you need me too.

None of the ships will changed, the Corellians and Rebals will share a few designs, the Imperials still have their Star Destroyers, ETC. Yes, I will post the ship styles on the liabary. Now AggieJohn, if you want you could work on the Rebal Union shipstyle.

with star wars we should do this right if we mess up the fans wion't forgive us.So we should find someone that can model and make them from sctrch .because I can convert ships easily.besides I have a farely completed mod on my pc I don't play it anymore But I like you idea it sounds intresting.

In the New Era campaign there is a ship similar to the Eclipse called the Hur'shiak (role is played by all four types of Arnorian ships), which grows bigger and more powerful as it kills more enemies but it is destroy by a malfunction caused by an ion storm later on in the campaign. The Hur'shiak is only featured in the campaign.

I was tinkering around with the ship designer today and came up with two new ships. The imperial cargo ship which I like though I might need to tweak it a bit to get it symmetrical.



This one I am very proud of. The jewel configuration quite literally came to me last night in a dream/falling a sleep last night. I was like eureka, that could work. So here is the Venator, Imperial version.
