We are happy to announce the first free MyColors subscriber theme for Object Desktop subscribers.  This is the first of four and this first one is the MyColors Gloss Burgundy theme.   

To install your free theme, download and install Impulse. The free theme will appear on the MyDesktop tab automatically (it has already been added to your account). Download Impulse here.  If you are not an Object Desktop subscriber, you can find more information at www.objectdesktop.com.

Sorry, but I hope never. Subscribing should have it's own benefits.  I'm fairly OK if it's repackaged with different elements . . but I belong to a members club at a winery.  I like pouring a glass of a barrel reserve to guests and having them love it and ask where they can get it.  I tell them "oh . .so sorry . .you can't.  It's for members only."

I just checked and so far the my colors themes are still not available in ZIP format, still wants to me download my colors.

Let me repeat myself a bit...


At this time only the subscriber theme "Gloss Burgundy" is being released unencrypted to members only. No other My Colors themes are planned to be released as unencrypted softwares.
Thus all you will see in your registration email is an additional link for a download of "Gloss Burgundy". There are two links - 1. is a My Colors download, 2. is a extras zip file download.


If for some reason you did not receive your link for the "Gloss Burgundy" zip file. Please contact [email protected] and they will get you fixed up Monday morning when they return to work.


And as Zubaz has pointed out this is a members only theme for people who have purchased Object Desktop. Which can be purchased at this link

You sure? I've got a un-encrypted copy of Pirate here, which is the only other theme I was able to download via ZIP.

This is a policy that is in the process of changing.

A little background first:

When we launched MyColors, the initial content came via licensed properties (NBA, NHL, NCAA, etc.) so we had to encrypt them to satisfy the IP holders. At the time, it was quicker to simply have MyColors only support this one format.

We've been working on making it so that MyColors themes can support unencrypted content as well but that's taking longer. So the plan going forward is to simply provide a ZIP file as part of your email (i.e. enter your email into the support.stardock.com website and it'll email you links to ZIP files as well as the MyColors themes).

Anyway, the intent with the encryption wasn't to prevent people from making ports but to protect licensed IP. But a lot of our best stuff is stuff we came up with and hence we can distribute however we choose.

Ok with this quote here from Brads initial statement to the fact. It would seem that a lot of the My Colors themes are to be unencrypted soon. Which ones and when I'm not sure of except for this subscriber theme at this time. You may have gotten another which is planned to be released unencrypted. But I figure there is a lot of work to have all the themes released via email registrations done in one day. Given time there is going to be more I'm sure of it. We just need to be patient and see which one will be released as soon as possible.



kwyjibo just turn the blurring off in wb config for the task bar and all will be fine.

Actually, we are in the process of adding all non-IP related zip files.  They will be available for the subscriber discount downloads only.  As of Friday, we were verifying the contents of the zip files and pulling the part numbers that they are associated with.  So, it should be very soon that those zip files will be available.

For the Gloss Burgundy theme, it will be for sale at some point.  It is part of a 15 color variation project.  They will be sold in 3 packs.  The other 2 of the three pack that includes Gloss Burgundy will also be free to OD subscribers, and that will be in ADDITION to the other 3 themes that will be provided with the subscription.  Each theme has the color variation of the skin, icons, gadgets and abstract wall as well as a unique Vlad wall that matches the theme.

You will almost always see the WC and OD content also for sale, but you will never see the OD and WC content use the same elements.

have the same problem like Igspence and PeterDudeJim below: Excellent theme, problem loading the weather widget though. Weather widget for think green works fine, burgundy states unable to determine version of stardock weather ocx. Have contacted stardock support but they never replyed. badblueboy

For anyone having trouble with the widgets, try http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/install_weather.bat (running as admin if in Vista) and report back.

It should resolve any issues.
