OK. Call me anal but all the gradient silhouettes are driving me nuts. So I decided to make a full set avatar from the Elemental resources we currently have. Please note that Luckmann has added many more avatars to the collection.You can get them below.
NOTE: most of these were created/cropped/edited by folks other than myself, so please give credit where credit is due
Additional Note: There are many more avatars scattered throughout the forum. I just posted the majority of them here. I have tried to include suggested pages to find more avatars by the various avatars if you want to look further. You can also use the "view edits" button if you're very very brave to view all previous versions of this main thread and the images where-in.

This OP is under construction. Due to some browsing issues it is being completely reformatted and built from scratch. There are other user avatars and lots of additional avatars that are supposed to be here in the OP. Jalicos (page: 15) and eplekogen (page: 5) come to mind right away. They should have avatars in this OP soon. Of course wintersong has tons of avatars scattered throughout the web. its a work in progress tracking them down and sorting into 'official art' and 'unofficial art' especially since some of the old 'official' art did not match the current style as well as others.
We are busy people though, and editing this takes more time than one might think.

YAY luckmann! hey, want to do us a favor and round up the avatars you created (save for the special ones for specific people)? I plan to do the same thing.
I still cant use ANY of these avatars, whenever i try uploading them and use them it just says "please choose another image"...
But you got another one to work? you right clicked and choose 'save as'?
I will personally help you get an avatar working. I went ahead and PM'd you. (I'll be on the forums more often than I was went the last batch of people had trouble, which is why I did not extend this offer to them the way I used to do with new-comers.)
(starting this week, my schedule has me out of 'lurker' status! I proudly will be able to hang out on these forums again! because my workplace doesn't block 'forums.stardock.com' like my last one did.)
Yes the one i have now is several years old however, back when i lurked the Galciv2 forums! I even tried resizing the avatar a few pixels down, and saved it again. The forum still wouldnt accept it, no .png's i upload is accepted
Edit: tried with google chrome, still didnt work. Tried renaming the file, didnt work. I could try saving it as a .jpg but then there'd be no transparency so no thanks =D
so you're trying firefox and chrome?
I would try uninstalling Flash and installing Flash 9 to give it a shot. (I remember this used to be a fix back in the day) Naturally after you've uploaded an avatar then you can upgrade back to flash player 10. (I assume you've checked that you have flash 10 installed)

Have you at least confirmed that jpgs work? We could easily make you a non-transparent avatar icon that still looks cool. If it works with jpgs using your current browser, but not pngs then its particularly mysterious.
Dude I have not been able to get the page to load for me for a long time. I keep hoping for the next update to fix it but it never does. I can only see them when I click on the edit page.
I been debating about copying all of them to the game domain and making an image page for each person but sadly I dont have the time and more importantly technical skill to do it properly.

I went to the joe thingy and I was already logged in just because I was logged in to the forums, it worked and my avatar pic is up now.

No doubt. I have over 100 more to add to the list. I figured it will take me half a day to update everything for the community. It is worth it however. You guys have made some really awesome ones. Shoot I would love to see a few of them on T-shirts!! I think these would be nice money makers for SD should they chose to go that route.

Hi. Ok I feel totally lame. I'm trying to upload any of of these and it's not working. I have the pixel & kb parameters right but I get nada. Any suggestions?
what happens when you try to upload them dgracia? (if you grab any of the avatars from in this thread they are already set to a solid pixel ration and size) Do you get an error message?

I can't seem to see any of these wonderful avatars . I don't know what's wrong.
EDIT: Okay, I can see all of the ones after the first post, but I can't seem to load them onto account images for my avatar. It gives me some -200 error.
Yes there is a big huge issue with the thread tech. It wont display properly. We have to wait until SD does something about it. Sorry folks. The best thing I can suggest it to look at the various posts in the thread. All the avatar come from posts in this thread and they all show still.
do say something if it continues not to work. We'll see if we can't figure out how to get the thread's avatars back up there without the other related viewing problems.
These are ALL kick ass, but I think (oh God people are gonna flame me for this...) I will stick with my Halo/XBox loyal pictures
