It is my pleasure as a new senator of the MWC to congratulate all good peeople of fertile lands with incredible success that our empire achieved in the recent past.

We are not the fastest growing empire but the quickest to rise in ratings. Opportunities are excellent for new (and seasoned) players to make their mark on the face of Metaverse.

We are not asking anyone to defect from other respected empires. We are asking people of midlands (of North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Japan, all islands) to join MWC. If desire to help a real and noble cause will regretfully make you leave existing empire so be it. Be strong in your true aligence.

We defeated G.R.O.S.S, others are shaking seeing MWC make it's way up.

Celebrate if you are an MWC member. Join us and we shall go together to the glorious future of the Mid Western Confederation.

surthur - yes indeed - read the old ANZAC and Freedom Force threads for a complete story of goings on. Some of us old ANZACs longed for a change - and ended up forging a franchise with GROSS: the Pirates of the Southern Seas! The Killa Koala formerly known as Drop Bear, ajm and Hurley are all in it. I still have a soft spot for the Children of the Corny, though! Spark up, farmers!

Gee! I think this is more like the GROSS thread. Where are all the MWC'ers? I am almost afraid to look at Metaverse, 'cause I know we are getting our hats handed to us. And worse still, the Canadians are sneaking up on us. Come on now, we can't let the Canadians get ahead of us, too! That would be like sacrilege (sp?) or worse. I'm in the midst of a gigantic right now so it will be a few days before I win (overconfident?), but I hope everyone gets a good score in soon. Even if everybody does a measly 5K points, we could get up over 200K. Oh well, wishful thinking maybe.

I am also in the middle(late) of a gigantic/tough and all that is left is the screaming. Another days worth of playing at most now that the Dregin have surrendered (yes surrendered) to me. Yes Pontius it is close to harvest time and with the harvest comes football. I can here the echoes stirring and the thunder shaking. We are all brother midwesterners but when it comes to our college football teams....well its a good thing we still have that midwestern heritage to hold us together. :)

Oh and as far as football goes, Badgers, preseason ranked at #20, go Bucky! And the Pack is set for another kick butt season, Farve is unstoppable, Super Bowl this year?

Michigan is due a good season, I will give them that and I live in Glorious Michigan.....but I graduated ND so after they lose to ND I wish them the best for the rest of their season. The Irish seem to have good days and bad days. Some times they just don't show up like SC and BC, and other days they deal out some major butt kicking like Michigan and Florida State. I just hope they are more consistant this year. They really need a new quarterback. It has been a soft spot for some time now.

Well, I went to Loyola, and since it is one of those poor little Catholic schools with no football team I have to support SOMEBODY. So, whatever state I am living in at the time gets my vote. Used to be Miami, then LSU, and now Michigan. :)

Part 4: LOCUSTS!!!

Second Decent

"Boop tic tic beep?"

"Any crop field will do, Max."

An unmarked corvette descended into a quaint field of corn. For the next 51 minutes and 22 seconds, it sat there peacefully.

Wrath

The indirect approach was called for this time. With sophisticated weapons, the MWC could make short work of a single crazed pirate. But this one had an Evil plan.

Six times an unnoticed red sphere appeared and disappeared in the MWC's heartland. Each instance was followed by mayhem.

"How do these locusts multiply so quickly?!?!" Idle called out to Zoshan.

Zoshan was struggling with his ionized sprayer. It was supposed to kill all harmful insects without damaging the crops. "I dunno!"

"What the heck is this?!?!" Plephart caught one of the Yorian locust-bots in his right hand. "It's mechanical!" The others ceased their spraying. "All ERCs. All ERCs, this is Big Momma. We're dealing with some Yorian technology!"

Across the agricultural landscape, the Emergency Reaction Crews retreated to their staging areas to rearm. And yet... all did not report in.

"Surther!" Kit leaped from the cornhusks at the head MWCer, electric cattleprod/razor stretched outward.

ZZZZZZZZZT!!!

"BLAKH AKH AKH!!!" Big Daddy dropped to the ground. It was a bit tricky with Surther twitching (and Kit's blood-alcohol level rather high) for the mad marauder to shave his victim's head, but neatness didn't count this time. Long before Kit could be discovered, he vanished in a red flash to find his next victim.

"Foolish MWCers. 'From top to bottom, jump in and get your hands dirty.' So predictable." Kit knew how to exploit hardworking values. He knew quite well.

ZZZZZZZZZT!!! Tim was shaven. ZZZZZZZZZT!!! Jon was shaven. ZZZZZZZZZT!!! Zoshan was shaven. ZZZZZZZZZT!!! Idle was shaven. ZZZZZZZZZT!!! Plephart was shaven. ZZZZZZZZZT!!! Kyrofx... had no hair... good thing he wasn't around. ZZZZZZZZZT!!! Jordan was shaven. ZZZZZZZZZT!!! Axels was shaven. ZZZZZZZZZT!!! ZZZZZZZZZT!!! ZZZZZZZZZT!!! They all fell.

Strolling to his corvette, surrounded by the electric buzz of locust-bots, amidst a landscape of destruction, Kit was satisfied. What was the price of a few shaven heads? The decimation of a planet's food supply? Cheap... and the corvette departed.
