can terror stars be stopped by interdiction beams?

if i build that starbase module that does -1 movement, will it stop a terror star?

what if the enemy builds a starbase with a +1 movement in the same sector? will a humorous race commence where two nations fill the sector with starbases trying to move/stop a terror star?

Haven't tested this yet, but it probably will stop a Terror Star. That being said, you can always slap on a speed booster on the Terror Star and see if that works. There are two speed assist modules and only one slow enemy module in game after all.

Modules to slow enemy ships will never bring vessels to a complete stop. It'll bring it down to 1 move per turn, but after that the AI would need to do pathfinding to re-route ships through the galaxy (and anyone that has played on a gigantic galaxy can tell you that pathfinding is already a hog in late games with huge fleets). That said, Terror Stars can not be stopped by Interdiction Beams ;) A smart idea though. The best defense against a T.S. will always be a few string ships ready to take it out.

Damn... Guess I can't make 'black hole' starbases (a fleet of -1 speed bases) to completely halt enemy ship movement.

As an additional note about terror stars and speed, those things will not be affected by the new and improved speed ability. My terror stars could only move one square per turn :( So much for my plan of using a fleet of 4 terror stars 'armed' to the teeth with party palaces...

Shoujo, agreed, I'd love to be able to make terror stars without the terror :) Especially if it got me around the UP Terror star restrictions. The one time I didn't want it to pass, it did!

Are you certain they can't bring vessels to a complete stop?

Just an hour or so ago I protected myself from Space Sharks (which have only one move/turn) by luring them into a sector where my Starbase had an interdiction beam... they never moved again.

I think they do stop terror stars. I say this, because one of my terror stars was stopped as soon as it entered a sector with an enemy starbase. I didnt notice it at first because I had it traveling on auto pilot. When i was curious as to why it hadnt gotten to the destination after a long time, I decided to have a peek at its status. Everytime i hit the turn button and it was my turn again, the starbase moves listed 0/1 moves left. This was like this until I had strong enough ships to get to the enemy starbase and destoy it. After the Starbase was destroyed, my terror star was able to move again.
