Need help avoiding jagged edges (zaggies) in Photoshop 7...

Can anyone help me with getting rid of, or avoiding, jagged edges in Photoshop 7? I am trying to design some wallpapers (with the intent of designing skins later), but I keeping getting "zaggies" on my object edges. Not an issue if the edges are created at either 45 or 90 degrees. I have tried both importing objects from Illustrator 10, and creating objects in Photoshop 7. Have not found a good method beyond Guassian Blur, which doesn't seem to do too well on detailed object edges. Any competent advise would be good. ;) :)

This is a simple and easy way, try creating your objects larger and scaling them down once you have finished with your object. (It's good to have a larger size object to begin with so you can reuse it later on something else.) PhotoShop does as great job scaling and also anti-aliasing "flat" objects. Any hard edges you may have will be blended and smoothed out. :)

another thing to look out for is that whatever your chosen method of creating your shapes - whether you use the shape tool, or selection tool, or convert a path to a selection - is to check in that tools options that it has the antialiasing box checked. This box can usually be found in the context sensitive toolbar along the top of the app beneath the menubar.

Dark-Star and Tiggz, Thank you very much.

Question concerning definition of "flat" objects.

Does this mean an object created with the shape, selection, or pen tool on any individual layer is defined as a flat object?

Should I avoid using a "style" on an object, and apply attributes on individual layers manually?

Any thoughts would be helpful. :)
