i don’t know what you want
but it’s not going to be filled with
flowers and i won’t hold your hand
i’m not going to smile and tell you it’ll
“all be alright”

i am going to tell you tales of madness
and sickness
stories that involve puke and blood and
rape and murder
ugly things by ugly people living ugly
lives

you might think i’m just some asshole
and you might be right, but you don’t get
to feel good because you heard my words
or bought my books
it’ll take a lot more than that

i am not a good man and i don’t
want to deprive you of any of the vitriol
that ferments in the aching of my bowels
i am a pisser, a burr under your saddle, the
standing accusation staring at you from the
foot of your bed

i want your head to hurt and eyes to water
i want to see you wring your hands and mutter
under your breath
i want my words to pick staccato-like in your
ears till rivulets of blood trickle down your face
and you clutch your stomach in fear of puking

i do this as a service

i’m trying to keep you alive.

Hey Johnny, is that book deal still in progress?

Good stuff man, I think to meant to add a "be" to the 4th line of the first paragraph.

The book thing is a lot more work than I imagined. I got the manuscript back from the editor and I have a lot of work to do before they will put it to print. But I'm working on it everyday. I hope to deliver it to the publisher by Christmas. It'll make a good gift next year...(wink).
