Update problem

I am having a problem with online games.  Everytime I try and play an online game I get a popup that says there is an update available and to update via impulse or play offline.  I exit the game and go into impulse and it shows no update available.  I even tried verifying install and still no update available.  I have this game installed at home and at work and at work it plays fine.  Any ideas?  just fyi, it is the same copy of the game I use both places.
