The intent of the White Council is to band together a community of gamers who are interested to Galciv regularly and to contribute to improving the game while being useful members of this forum.

The pre-requiste for a White Council member is basic commitment to the above purpose. There is no requirement for you to be as clinical a finisher as "I can win in my sleep" Staffa or have the workrate of Sergey the dark horse/black sheep. :)

You might ask as to why you should join the Council where you could be a regular contributor by yourself. The White Council is an opportunity for you to belong to a small community within the big Galciv one. You would also be assured of help or assistance from your fellow Council members as needed.

Nope - bad idea; you just fight for computer time then. Only one of you can play while the other interacts with the children. You must get her hooked on something, yes, but NOT computing. My wife loves old movies....by subscribing to cable TV, she has her cathode ray addiction - and I have mine. No arguments about who's on the PC!

The White Council sit around their massive table, a large crystal ball glittering at its centre. The group is wreathed in white smoke, as they are most of the time, contemplating the universe, time, space and their own naval fluff.

RayChua: "Well, my wizards, I hope we are all flying over the appopriate landscape, after a few hours of this good 'smoke'?


Philo: "Yeah RayBaby, I'm good....now I don't know if I've had too much smoke today....but is there something IN our crystal ball?"

Five-O: "Yeah, man.....hey, it looks like a little octopus...with blue rings on its arms....is it an omen, great one?

The small blue-ringed octopus in the crystal ball suddenly shoots out blue ink that rapidly fills the ball....the white smoke over the table becomes tinged with the same blue colour....

Philo: "Christ Ray, get a grip, mate...."

Five-0: "That's it - I'm not smokin any more of this shit.....where's the Fosters!!"

Peering into the scrying crystal, Ray and LanVik, the newest member of the Council, could see Space Wombat rolling around the floor, laughing maniacally while Star Trek Voyager ran on the telly.

"It is a pity that such a fine young ANZAC is afflicted by such delusional thoughts about assimilating the Empires, LanVik. Your powerful mind magiciks have revealed his wild and ludicrous fantasy of assimilating the Council using some blue octopus. We could only wonder at the perversity that has overwhelmed him."

Whew, seems like the server was down for a while. Couldn't log since 15hrs ago. Anyway, took the time off the forums to finish up my games and have just posted a Crippling Medium and Crippling Huge. Funny that my Medium scored higher. Maybe I should play smaller maps more.

Anyone can join the White Counci, Maike Geng.

We are one of the few empires (besides the pirates, the gladiators and the spiders) that do not require sworn allegiance to a particular real-life flag.

I see you have still not shaken off the polymorph spell, Drop Bear. Did you get too attached to your huge hairy dropbear arse? :D

I see that Sergey (KseAli) has submitted a game! Sergey's was our Chief Warmage before he want out for a break. What are you doing playing a painful game, Sergey? That's too easy for you! Or did it play that by limiting yourself to starfighters? :D

Well guys, I have returned to playing Maso after a short trip to hammer some hapless Crippled aliens. Won a Tiny/Abundant using the Rush. My current preferred rush picks are Federalists (it was a toss-up with Populists with their Morale and Diplo bonuses but I didn't think I would be doing much talking). Then Spd+1 for transport speed, +30% pop growth because the lack of pop is always a headache for the rusher, +10% morale to grow pop and also to conteract the morale problems with too fast growth. Lastly, +10 soldering to give something extra to my troopers. Worked like a charm and I took that game rather easily.

Now I'm working on a Maso/Small. I had a terrifc start with some very good planets but I was thwarted by the weakest AI in the game - the Yors. I going for a short break now to recover from my shame.

Hmm... this scoring system is still strange for me..
I finished a painful game yesterday, and it scored just 7040 (with alliance victory). Until this time my challenging games scored 7500 (with influence victory). I won the game in 2193.. was it too qiuck? Should I wait a few years and let the pop. grow and research a lot of stuffs? I finished the challenging ones in about 2200.

I have my suspicion that the new pop scoring computation is the culpruit for all the weird scores that we have been seeing in 1.05, LanVik. If you want a higher score, build up your empire more and go for a harder victory (military).
