Why does Stardock force me to reload every single file?

Here I'm sitting trying to download the latest GalCiv. I'ts a real chore ... I have to reload file after file after file again and again ... from what I can see, I downloaded 85Mb, then the installer tries to unpack each file, finds that it's corrupt, deletes it and pops up a warning. On the next update attempt, the deleted file is loaded from the server, and the installer tries to unpack it again, hopefully successessfully this time.
Now, I don't know ... it looks like Stardock doesn't use the TCP/IP protocol, as that protocol ensures that all data is transmitted correctly (and the download speed tends to support this as well - too fast for TCP) but surely Stardock has implemented its own protocol on top of UDP to handle packet loss???
It would be insane to think otherwise, but right now I'm GOING BLOODY INSANE clicking 'CANCEL' - Update - 'CANCEL' - UPDATE etc about TWO HUNDRED BLOODY TIMES to download the latest galciv.
Sorry about that, but I'm been trying to get Stardock to work for like 12 hours now, so I'm getting a bit fed up...
And yes, I'm using the sdrc1. Of course, it updates itself to build6 the first thing it does, but stopping it from doing that update doesn't help...
Oh well, time to press some more 'CANCEL' - Update ...
*sigh*
