my sedna problem

my sedna problem

Sedna - shes sleek.  shes fierce.  shes got a nice rack.

the prob is in some games where the fighting is fierce and i dont get to touch any creeps, i get outleveled.

How do you guys combat this problem?

Mmm, yes. After having done some tests, I realize I hadn't taken enough into account of Sedna's autoattack damage (which frankly, is pretty wicked.) Heal sedna does get more longevity in a straight-up fight. My mistake.

I've been considering chucking Grace to level up her actives faster, but I hate being at 6.0 and that first level of Grace is so efficient.... bah, choices!

Other DG get by without having a heal to suppliment there HP pool. Assuming we are all equal out the gate, a sedna taking BotF and monks will be getting 200 hp every 8 seconds or so. I like taking pounce/inner grace1/wind 1/pounce2/wind 2/ After level 6 I start getting heal / magnificent presence or silence. In my experiences, the amount of mana healing requires does not justify its use with pounce, especially early game. You can effectively heal, or you can effectively pounce. Doing both leaves you with no mana and much less effective.

I do not know who you are playing but monk heals are NOT enough to live off of.  Even with BotF If I see a lvl 1 sedna pounce i instantly have people focus her.  I have no problem seeing things from other perspectives but this simply is not right.  Furthermore according to demigoddb.com heal is LESS mana than pounce so that theory is out the window.  And also there is nothing in this game that can not be killed in 8 seconds.  2 coordinated demis could easily kill Sedna in 8 seconds if they do it right.  Or in other news you could kill the high priests.

The people your playing with must not be that good. Or your playing premade vs noob teams a lot. A good sedna that is pounce orientated will not overextend herself. She knows her heals are on a timer, and that 2 DG can diminish her HP pool before the healing becomes enough to save her. Your statement about '2 coordinated demis could easily kill _insert any DemiGod Name Here_ in 8 seconds if they do it right.' Really? before you wrote that, did it dawn on you that such a statement would be true about any DG, but in fact is much LESS true for a well played sedna?

Also about killing the high priests, thats up to you to waste your time doing that. A solo sedna only needs 1 alive to recieve its full benefit. They have considerable HP pools, and a short enough recast time that replenishing them is not an issue. If it ever was sedna could also leave them at a tower and walk backwards till they are in heal range and take advantage of them from outside of the fight.

This plus the fact that high priests at level 5 without any armor heal for 1000 hp every 8 seconds for free, on up to 2 demigods. Heal at level 4 is doing 800 every 8 seconds to 1 demigod and it costs tons of mana. A similar amount of mana could be expended expediating the death of your opponents.

When I spoke of the relationship of mana vs damage and mana vs heals, I said that mana converts worse into a damage spell than mana converts into a healing spell. My language or use of words may have been confusing, but in no way did I confer that pounce was more mana efficient than healing, or even mathematically superior to heal. It's the fact that heal is unecissary and a total mana sink early game.

Always take innergrace at 2. It's like having boots for free, and easily puts you on par or over any player that did not choose swift anklets as there favor item.

Like I said, just considering, because as is it takes until about level 17 to finish everything. Its tempting to try to speed that up, but I still think Grace is worth it.

Other DG get by without heal, but I think you're forgetting that most DG would give up their left foot to have it. Heal is much more efficient at turning mana into healing than Pounce is at turning mana into damage. Generally I find it to be far more useful than Pounce early game, which I take advantage of, and add Pounce later.

Hi, I rarely post here but I frequent these boards every day, all day while at work. I have learned so much from all you I just want to say thank you, especially to SoFFacet and Stacked_Attacker. You two have made my Sedna skills increase so much. I've had the game since release but barely played it due to playing shit MMO's like WAR but have since quit and devoted my game time to Demigod alone. I've recently been playing as her full time in noob/intermed. games and have been kicking ass and taking names. Thanks two you both and the many others who post here on the regular with their sick strats.
