Small bug in 1.0.5.071 (and may be before)

The bug is that if some planet get "skull" sign on it it never disaapear !

I just finished one game with cultural victory , the moral was 100 on all the planest , I had all the modifiers for moral and influence , but the planet that got "skull" sign in the begining of the game had it until the end ...

This is the number one most frequently confused issue
on this forum :)

The skull never disappears, its by design.

All it signifies is that at one point in time that
system failed a check, and if it ever fails a check
again, it will switch. It has no reflection on the
current state of the situtation.

The skull never disappears, its by design.
End of quote

It is possible for a planet to culture flip twice - one in one direction, and back in the other direction when an empire responds with a few cultural palaces. As a result, most people find this to be counter-intuitive, and therefore consider it a bug.

It's probably better to have a small chance (although fractional compared to the cultural damage) for that skull to disappear and have the system's culture revert to normal.

Besides, culture flipping seems to be a bit too sensitive. This is based on observations of defections occurring on the absolute difference between the influcence ratings within a sector as opposed to the percentage differences.

But this system never "flipped" it was mine from the beggining and never changed side ! Anyway I do think it's a bug because even "this flag was raised" after a few good years of absolute control it should "go down".

I agree. I'm thinking you should only have that skull there if the planet is in potential to immediate danger of flipping (ie Someone elses culture currently dominates your sector). Makes it a bit less confusing

OK, I was wrong, the flag disappears if the planet
changes ownership and then the flag flipping thing
can begin all over, yes a planet can flip back.

Maybe poor design, but not a bug, this is by design
been stated quite clearly quite often, cause believe me
like forceinfinity has said, this is very confusing
and has been asked many many times.

I sometimes pull the population and sell planets that look like they're going to flip anyway. Almost always to my next victim. Then when I retake it several turns later that resets the flag.

Like flag is my only problem , I just need an indication when my planet/system is about to defect and when it's not so I will stop pumping money and building influence stuff on it , esspecially if I am not targeting cultural victory.
Actually I am trying to achieve technological for a long time , but always end up with cultural :) because I have to implement "contramesures" to avoid my planets flipping, a of this and I find myself half way to cultural victory :)
