How to uninstall then reinstall?

I've played DG a lot and have had relatively few technical issues, but recently I tried rebinding some of the keys and the game crashed. When I restarted it was stuck on the options screen rather than the main menu and I couldnt do anything, I have tried verifiying using Stardock, then uninstalling and reinstalling via stardock then uninstalling via windows and reinstlling from disk, but even this doesnt fix the problem. Is there some way I can uninstall properly and re-install as if I had never had the game before? Or some simpler fix like some ini file I can delete? I really dont wanna have to reformat my harddrive, I'd rather quit on DG than do that and its a pity DG is one of my favourite games.

After taking a scalpal to my C drive and removing every even remotely associated file I have managed to re-install and it runs again, problem solved - phew!

For future reference, if something goes awry with the settings files, those are generally ignored in any uninstall process, so they'd need to be removed manually (and it might even save the reinstall if you try that first!).
