DesktopX Transparency
There are 3 ways of using transparency in desktopX.
1. "Magic-Pink"
For people who like to stick to simple jpegs and bitmaps, the usage of "Magic-pink" is advised. Magic-pink is a 3 number code that stands for a color (255, 0, 255). Open up your color picker or whatever you use for choosing colors and find these fields:
R:
G:
B:
these stand for Red Geen and Blue
Now input the three numbers into the fields so that it now reads:
R: 255
G: 0
B: 255
Congradulations, you have made magic pink. Magic pink, when used in desktopX or windowblinds will automatically become invisible allowing you to make objects that are curved.
*IMPORTANT!
Make sure that you have turned off all anti-aliasing because if the magic pink is even a tiny bit off hue, it will come out pink instead of invisible
Magic pink is not very useful for situations where you want somthing to be semi-transparent because it is incapable of doing this... Magic pink only works when you want somthing to be invisible
2. PNG
Png images are the easiest way of making somthing transparent or semi-transparent in desktopX. PNG or .png is an image extention, png image files can handle transparency and semi-transparency without any tampering or magic pink... To create a png image do the following:
Go to File>New and under the image options the "Transparent" radio button (see pic)
Click OK and start making your image. The white and gray boxes will be invisible when you put the image into desktopX...
You can also make an image or layer semi-transparent by reducing the entire layer's transparency.
Once you are done making your image save it as a png. For example: menu1.png
click here to see an example of a skin using png's: https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.asp?library=31&SkinID=3028
3. Object Properties
You can also set the transparency of an object by going to the appearence tab in an objects properties
Thats all!
Hope this was helpful....
