A Wedding with Friends
The greatest wedding ever occured last night. It was such a cool experience for both my husband and I. We were in our best friends' wedding as a bridesmaid and groomsmen. That hardly ever happens to us, so we were really happy that it did. We were so busy during the whole day preparing for the wedding, but it was a fun experience. The bridesmaids and bride started our day around 7:30 am, but the groomsmen didn't get started until around 10:30 am. We bridesmaids were really jealous of their schedule of events lol. We had to go decorate the reception hall, get our hair and make up done, get dressed, drive everywhere, and take a lot of destination pictures. The bride was in such a good mood and went with the flow with whatever happened. She was just so happy to be marrying her husband. She set a good example of how every bride should act on her wedding day. One of the bridesmaids did the brides' make up and she went to a salon to get her hair done. She looked absolutely incredible. Her dress looked breathtaking on her with her hair and make up done. You should have seen the way her husband just stood in awe when he saw her. The saw each other for the first time when they went to get their pictures taken together at a park before the wedding.
The bridesmaids' gifts we got were some jane iredale mineral make up and a pagmina to wear over our dresses to keep us warm in the 29 degree cold weather lol. It was so cold while we were taking pictures, the photographer was hilarious so it was totally worth it to freeze my but off
Anyway, the groomsmen got mma hoodies with their names on the back for their groomsmen gifts, which they loved. One of my favorite parts was when the bridal party got a pep talk from the minister that married them at the rehearsal dinner to be good servants really love the bride and groom on their day to make everything go as easily as possible. I think as a result, the day went really well, so I'm thankful that he challenged us to do that. I've never had a minister do that before, and I was definitely impressed. Neither the bride or groom asked him to do that.
The wedding and reception were such a joyous occasion and it was really fun to celebrate their marriage. Their first dance was to Dave Barnes' song called Nothing Fancy. I cried when I watched them dance together because they looked so blissful. He was singing the song to her as they were dancing and she just had her eyes closed with her head on his shoulder with a soft smile on her face. So perfect! Needless to say, I was not the only one crying watching them dance. The dinner was really good, and so was the music. I loved sharing the experience with my husband and all of our friends. Well, I'm totally and completely exhausted from my busy week and can't really think straight, so I'm going to get some more rest, drink some nighttime tea, and have some of this to eat. Have a great night. Peace.
