Gentlemen, did DA's swap skill acutally change anything?

Gents, i've been away for quite some time (my premade left me for other games with larger epenors /sigh) but i'm thinking of getting back into demigod. (and by getting back into i mean getting booted from every game b/c stats say i have 0 games under my belt....)

anywhom, i was wondering how DA plays out in competitive play. from his base skill set i'd wager he doesn't typically make it in.

while his swap skill is a boon to any 3v3 or 2v2 for giving you more time to wack someone whom is trying to run away, all of his skills seem to be based upon pure direct dmg (and by seem i mean are) While i think this is an interesting demigod b/c he has NO other option then to deal out straight dps, he has no snares (besides swap), an odd passive skill set (idk about stacking speed that high when i can just buy wand of speed) and can't really push lanes very well.

i'd like to discuess if my observations are correct, and would also like to talk to anyone whom has stacked dodge with him. (skills + sin boots)

TL: DR verson

is he gud?

PS; i hurd playground got banned. ever since then i've been trying to find the smallest violin i own.

ignoring everything but the op for now - swap added another level of strat to the game.  I think it was a good addition.  Not OP as good players can generally compensate, but it adds another layer to the strat.  Port steals and bat swarm steals are fun as all get out though

I haven't found a dodge stack to be all that viable with him.  My build is pretty similar to dice's.
End of pacov's quote

by change anything, i meant is he a must or are teams now always using him ect. not this demigod is worthless. frankly i find the DA to be very rewarding to play.

ah... yeah, he's definitely not a must.  If one team chooses da, the other team doesn't need their own da to compensate.  I agree that he is fun to play though.

I have been playing DA more now and sadly my % has taken a hit. first i blame the teams i have gotten more than anything but the other problem is that DA deffinatly does not get strong till later and often its to late. This being said though i have found him to be more effective when using speed and not trying to turn him into another melee tank like UB he just can't do it. Let other teamates tank the first bit and then swoop in with alot of direct damage. the problem is that people are not used to this yet so when they see you hanging back waiting for your moment to run in they think they need to back off too so then you just loose ground. DA can't hold the lane early game true but he can back up a real tank quite well and later in the game as long as your team holds the ground he can clean house on the other demi gods freeing everyone up. if you play this way the bigger the map the more powerful DA is because of the ground that he can cover.

You asked about dodge w/ the DA and I can vouch that it is definitely not bad.  I don't know that it makes for the strongest DA however I found it to give me just enough survivability to feel comfortable staying in and finishing players with aa.  I always coupled it with the dodge boots as well.  Generally speaking, my build was the same as any "speed" build, cept w/ dodge.
