Best spell in the game?

Another post got me thinking it was time to hash this one out again.

What is (currently) the best ability in the game? Bite? Boulder Roll II? Shield III?

I'm probably gonna say Shield III is the most game changing and easiest to abuse.

Most OP: Acclimation

Best IMO: Mist

Interesting. Yes, Acclimation is OP.

Mist? I'm seriously asking: are you serious?

Best: Ground Spike, all around one of the best team skills. You were none specific if the usefulness of the DG factored into the evaluation of the skill. ;) eg: If UB had ground spikes, people would fall over into a fetal position and be premanently traumatized.

If QoT had an interrupt and wasn't so horrible late game people would claim it is imba because of how sick DMG can get from being under the effect of spikes III/IV when you are being teamed up on by multi AA damage.

Mist is the best skill in the game because it can mitigate more damage then anything (other then Gaycclimation).

It counters millionz of skills.

Fireball/RoI/Any stun/Pent Debuff/Bite Debuff/Deep Freeze/Ground Spikes/Slow Mines/Mark of the Betrayer/Boulder Roll/Hammer Slam/Tracking Device/Snipe/Mines/Spike Wave/etc

It lets you enter and exit battle once you get decent mana.

It can buy you time to get help

You can use it between cooldowns to mitigate more dmg.

The only real counter to it is Silence.

Ground spikes hands down!

Most annoying; Spit

most hated: foul grasp

most demigod that needs to be nerfed: UB

end of story, I win.

No, you're right Orion. I don't care how useful the DG is, cause then we would just have all the big 3's abilities listed first. I'm just talking about spells.

QoT needs all her spells to cost 2/3 of what they do, spike wave to be an interrupt and level 15 abilities that don't blow and she would be awesome.

Legit reasons, Teseer.

Most Annoying: Mines. Followed by Pew-Pew. (Not really an ability, but still...)

It is like, "Seriously, Reg? Will you just stand still so I can drop an Axe in your forehead?"

Only skill queen has that needs an interupt is ground spikes!

Silence.  lv 2 means you can lock any port without being interrupted (as long as your opponent is near you).  You can stop every dg that is near you from using abilities (which means players that depend on sigils probably can't cast them before they get nuked).  In short, you can completely wreck the timing of an entire team with a push of a button.  Acclimation is tough, but it can't do that.

Shield 3 is strong and easy to abuse, but at least a da can counter that slop even after he cast it and tries to port out.  The downside is that da is the only hard counter to it (and oak > da generally speaking).

If u get last crown (5.5k) and 1 or 2 helmet maybe 1500/1750 helmet....U can do mist non stop. So go at citadel and mist....then u wait for his destruction :D

I always get acclimation, but someone enlighten me on why it's so overpowered. I've been trying to work the numbers on why everyone thinks this and there are so many other powers that seem to be right there with it.

SWAP - the most versatile and allows for the most creative use of any power in the game.

Acclimation Swap Boulder Roll

Seriously?  It makes UB even more unkillable then a good one already is.  Most skills at lvl 15 do over 500 dmg so it is constantly procced.

lvl 15 swap.  Sup if you can see me you're getting swapped.  If you run the second you see my whole team start to teleport, you're still getting swapped rofl.

When people say DG is a one-dimensional game, (stack hps, sigils, scrolls, whatever it is they bitch about), I point to a thread like this where I think a strong case has been made (by some of the best players in the game) for at least 4 or 5 different skills being the strongest.

I think Shield 4 just because oak gets to do whatever the hell he wants too.

Best skills by category:

No DA game = Shield III

Artifacts Game = Bestial Fury

Cheez = Last Stand, Shield III

Auto-attack modifier = Angelic Fury

Aura = Fire Aura

Movement = Swap

Stun = Frost Nova

Silence = Silence

Minions = Spirits

My two favorites, regardless of how good they are, are MoTB killing a guy because he ported home under it and swapping a shielded Oak to victory lap his citadel.

Can someone who doesn't get a hard on from acting like I'm stupid answer this? Is it what Jona says, because considering the constant damage at that level I would think all of the powers at that point lead to such constant damage that who cares about having big hit damage.

So many DG powers hit for 500 damage or more at level 15 that you almost always have acclimation activated and get full benefit from the damage reduction almost as if it didn't have an activation requirement.
