So I talked to this guy yesterday who swore that Sony/Toshiba/etc had a conspiracy of infecting his TV's DVD player.

He was FURIOUS about me telling him our program would not run on his...dvd...player...

So I told him to submit a feature request so the Devs could have a good laugh and told him to be careful out there to feed the paranoia.

Hey, I gotta get through the day somehow.

Not sure what that is doing here, Teseer, but it's still awesome.

A friend of mine used to fix computers at a shop and this guys called up complaining that he had broken the cup holder off his tower. My friend had no idea what he was talking about, so he told him to bring it in. You guessed it, he had set a big mug of coffee on his cd drive (this was awhile ago) and it had snapped off. Not the same thing, but pretty good all the same.

I only usually get to play DG on the weekends (though with summer 2 weeks away that is gonna change big time  , so I spend most of my week jonesing and obsessively reading the forums during every prep period, study hall, lunch break or any time my students are working. I'd probably lose my job if the admin found out, but I think I have blocked their remote viewing (I think... I certainly hope it was blocked when I was reading the DD forum O:) .)

So yes, I am addicted to the forums, but mostly as a fix for not getting to play enough DG.

Enjoy your 10 day out of school suspension. Any time you are connected to the internet, a TST can screenshot your computer. It's done randomly throughout the day. It's also pretty lulzy. I work at a help desk, and on slow days my boss will just hop onto the computers of kids playing games just to screw with them.

Our school doesn't use suspension anymore...and being caught isn't something new >.>

I hate everything about online updates. I had to help like fifty kids get TestNav (standardized testing software) on their computers in 45 minutes because they're too damned lazy to restart their computers like once a week  :S

What bothers me more then ANYTHING else is how these asscocks can just throw money away.

"Alright, so what software did you purchase?"

"I don't know."

"Was it our Anti-Virus?"

"I think so..."

"Did it include a Firewall?"

"I don't know"

WTF!? I wish I had money to just randomly buy shit that I have no clue what it is.

pfft.. they were probably told by someone "YOU NEED THIS ON UR COMP" "what is it?" and then all they hear is "blah blah blah blah" and instead of saying, I don't get it can you explain that in simpler terminology or maybe a helpful analogy to something I already understand, they just nod and act like they understand for fear of looking stupid.

Who needs antivirus anymore on personal comps... sup virus free for 4 years w/out antivirus (before then I had antivirus, not a virus.. just to clarify).  What do these people do to get viruses... download stupid shit that is pretty much clearly labeled "IM A VIRUS"?

I've never used an AV. You just need to not be braindead.

Unfortunately that condition is not met by a majority of the public.

Oh, and even if someone tells me I need something, I'm going to remember wtf I bought.
