Title says it all.  This seems to be THE opportunity to get some new people into the game if the price has been stopping them.  They can always upgrade to Entrench and Diplo later for 20 bucks!

Holy hey.  At $4 it's like highway robbery--of Ironclad and Stardock.  Where did you find it for that price?  (Oh, it's on Impulse now I see.)

It makes me wanna register this game for the second time on my impulse account.

lol, shame, most people who don't already know about Impulse won't be able to advantage of the deal, only if people actually saw the deals in-store, then more people will so get hooked onto this game

It's over now :-/.

If you got in on this deal for $4, please sound off and say hi.

Well, I did buy it for family so hopefully I can get them online soon.

I picked it up for $4.  I'm really not an RTS fan, generally speaking, because I don't care to be tested on how fast I can click things and how well I have memorized standard opening gambits.  I'd rather have a chance to think and plan.

Anyway, I've just begun to play around with Sins and I'm hoping it is less RTS-y and more TBS-y, but we'll see.  So far I'm finding getting started a bit challenging because there's so much information and I don't yet know what is important and what isn't.  The tutorials didn't really help that much, so I'm going to do a read through of the manual and a scan of the forums for more advice.

Sins takes a lot of its inspiration from turn based strategy, and it brings out the best of its own genre, but it's still a real time strategy game, simply by virtue of being real time.

I personally think a lot of the "click-fest" accusations of the RTS genre are unfounded.  They've been repeated so often that they're now accepted as a truism (not that the so-called "pro-gamer" scene has helped...) but if you actually sit down and compare the novices and the veterans, they're both clicking about the same speed.  The difference is really that the veterans are making better moves.
