A Writing Rediscovered 6 1/2 Years later.

Maturity in years??

*Lights Smoke*

Ahhh... Since I have been "home" (childhood), the first time for more than a day, I was digging through old journals I have kept for as long as I can remember. Of course a sheepish grin always appears across my face as I read a carefree 13-year-old's dreams. Sure that was almost 10 years ago, but it makes me think as to how ambitious I have been over the years. Also what I said I would do with my life, and have I really done it? The handwriting is also another thing I look at. I take into consideration what I was experiencing at that time... what is the same and what is different?
Lurking through a journal I kept in my 16th year, I came upon a poem/song I wrote. I began to smile because I remember what the subject was about, and now 6 1/2 years later the meaning takes on something entirely different. I suppose it is through experience we learn to bring forth meaning in familar things. As the reader of this article your are thinking... "well no shit-sherlock!" Well, to you I say..." keep digging Watson."

Well the poem/song is this:

Lullaby-
Age:16

I heard it all before,
In life you must explore,
Make for you what is right,
I once said Good-night.

A locket tossed around,
Now is gone, and won't be found,
The clasp is still sealed tight,
I suppose this is Good-night.

It hurts in different ways,
Sometimes night into day,
The match struck shed light,
To this I say Good-night.

Call it passionate war,
A love that leaves me sore,
Often hurts outright,
I will not say Good-night.

No longer feel unsure,
Embraced in arms-secure,
As we drift asleep tonight,
With a kiss I'll say goodnight.
