Trying to contact Blair Fraser [Contacted]

Trying to contact Blair Fraser [Contacted]

I heard a year or so ago that his pm inbox wouldn't accept new messages. Is there any other way to contact him or another person who is related to the programming crew with Iron Clad concerning Sins of a Solar Empire? Just would like some actual dialog on an issue that myself and others in the community are trying to deal with.

E-mail has been sent: [email protected]

Awaiting a reply.

I received a reply from Mr. Fraser. He is looking into the issue on his personal time in the next or following weekends. He said coding wise it looks like it shouldn't be too hard of a fix but implementing it onto all three versions of Sins would be the more difficult part.

I have recieved word back from Mr. Fraser that he has indeed made the appropriate change concerning the planet and zoom issue. He has mentioned that he won't be pressing Stardock to release the patch until things calm down due to the soon to be launched Elemental game. He says that a new Diplomacy build needs to be created and placed on Impulse.

I asked him about the Sins Optimization Project and hope to have an answer back. I will keep everyone posted. There IS hope!

HEY! This is NOT a post about bashing on IronClad or Stardock!!!

This is a thread concerning the possibility of a new update and the content in that update.

If you want to complain and whine about stuff please start your own thread as I will NOT tolerate this thread being hi-jacked into one about people who are whining and complaining to ME to fix things. If you have some issues, contact Stardock, contact IronClad and for crying out loud submit your 'bug fix' requests to the appropriate channels.

Mr. Fraser is doing this on HIS spare time. Read: WEEKENDS outside of his work week at IronClad on Elemental. They have a VERY small design team as far as developer man-hours is concerned. So, relax and chill. Otherwise, get the crap out of this thread and leave it alone if you've got nothing constructive to contribute.

Pbhead, you are correct. However, the TSOP project is being looked at as well to my understanding. There is no confirmation about any changes concerning that however. When I have some, I shall post an update.

Don't thank me bud, Thank Mr. Fraser for taking the spare time out of his weekends to look into these things. :andrew:

from my memory the problem was that the discovered planets were hiding the stars when zoomed out to see several solar systems.

That. Is. Pretty. Bloody. Impressive.

Similer, I believe what Mr. Fraser has done has set it so that the planet icons dissapear after you zoom out far enough, just leaving the stars behind.

Out of curiosity, could you pm the approach you took to get where you are myfist0?

If they do that I will not patch. I want to see, however small, who is where.

myfist0 I wanted to thank you for showing how to accomplish this. I will be posting up a video on where I am currently at and with what parameters I am using. I am still managing to have the planets be an issue, though what you have shared has helped to alleviate that somewhat. Expect a video by the end of the weekend. I'll post it here.

What issues are you having. Can you not duplicate what I did or is that not what you wanted?

Can I post the video on the weebly page?

I can duplicate exactly what you did. It was very easy to follow and well laid out. It does not fully solve the issue I am running into. When you zoom out, the planets do not stay close to the star. On a 50 star map for example when you zoom out the stars continue to get closer but eventually while zooming out the planets no longer get closer to their stars and then you cannot tell which star the planet belongs too.
