Questions about fonts in skinstudio...

I am reletively new to skinning with skinstudio and was wondering about the fonts. I've had a lot of problems setting the color for specific things, such as...

when I wanted to change the color of my buttons it changed other fonts to the same color(which i didn't want) I noticed that in the fonts menu there is only like 5 different font's to set, does it group certain fonts together, and is there anyway to change each individual font? sorry if this thread is confusing but i really want to make the best possible skin. thanks a lot.

You can add more fonts and colours as needed. They are grouped to lower the complexity of the code, but you can add as many as you want.

ok this may sound like a stupid question but how do you assign the new fonts to certain areas of the theme. some step by step instructions would be greatly appreciated.

When you have a font ed, click the "Add new font" button.   Maybe someone else will give you the play by play, sorry but I don't have time right now. But I'm betting you'll see how it works, if you try that button.

When you have a font se|ected

After you've added your new font, then tweak it up and get it lookin how you want it. Then go to the section that you want to change the font in, and switch to the new font using the dropdown box that shows up when you click the section you want to change.

Here is a good trick to see how the fonts and colors get used.
Open a new skin using the default luna skin. Go to "classic colors". Go down the list on the right tree and change all the text colors to clearly different colors making each one different. Use bright reds , greens, yellows, etc. Then you can explore the skin seeing where the colors are used. You can save the skin and fall back to it whenever you get in a pickle. It only takes about 5 minutes and will save you hours trying to make sense of the text colors. Hope it helps.

good suggestion Night Train...I often use a test skin for measuring skin metrics by changing a graphic to solid black so its easier to measure in PS....also for testing transparency issues.
