Winstep version numbers are based on Year.Month, and this release was supposed to have come out in August (10.8), which was when that preview video was made. Unfortunately some last minute features (plus having to wait for the Cnet Download.com exclusive that is currently going on) delayed the release by a month.

What about Stacks ?

You can use Cris'n'Soft stand alone Stacks.

Native Stacks support unfortunately had to be pushed back for the next release - and it will NOT be a feature of the free version of the Nexus dock anyway, only Nexus Ultimate, which already has sub-docks ('dock categories').

Mine! I'm gonna go get it. Some of those effects are really cool. I especially like the green glow effect.

Got it! Wow. This is some cool stuff. I'll spend more time playing with it.

And you can colorize all the animated particle effects, which means you actually have a TON of variations.

By the way, Nexus is currently featured on the front page of Cnet's Download.com. |-)

Jorge...something has puzzled me: I'm running 10.8 Beta 3. How come it doesn't recognize Nexus 10.9 as an upgrade?

Could you take a minute and explain your numbering system? Thanks!

Ditto for me. I show 10.8 on the Workshelf Preferences Window, and about says File Version 10.08.0900

How do I see which beta it is?

I just purchased the extreme about 3 weeks ago. When I installed it I had everything showing and it said 10.6. It doesn't tell me an update is available even when I go to Preferences/advanced and check. Also Right after I installed it I exited the dock. Can't even find it on my system. Must be hiding here somewhere I would guess.

Mine says 10.9 and a check for updates says all my stuff is current.

If you got the extreme and didn't install any Beta, then you have the latest "Official Release"...10.6.

If you installed a Beta, then it could only be Beta 2 or Beta 3. Mine says the same as yours (click on the version in the upper right corner of the workshelf config window), and I installed Beta 3.

Dave, What does yours say in the upper right corner of the Preferences window (Nextstart or Workshelf)? Click on it and it should show your files like WB does. If you want the 10.8 Betas, logon to the Forums and go to the Beta Forums. It's the top thread once you get there.

Ok Doc thanks. I have no beta and it says 10.6 Winstep Xtream. I find it strange I would now have to install a beta to get the additional features and will just wait till the version update. I did find how to load the dock again.

Just reload your Workshelf.

Not knowing when said update would occur, I plunged into the beta. I have absolutely no regrets as it works flawlessly and the new effects are awesome! I highly recommend it.5*

The Dock and I just realized you're not talking about that. Oops.

Winstep Xtreme v10.9 will be officially released next week. Nexus v10.9 was ready (and the Cnet Download.com exclusive was already scheduled for Friday) but Winstep Xtreme still needed some work on features that are specific to it.

Usually all versions are released at the same time, but unfortunately this was not possible now because of the Cnet exclusive.

So you can just wait a little while longer and get the official update next week (the Winstep Update Manager should notify you within 24 hours of release) or, assuming you are a registered Winstep Xtreme or Nexus Ultimate user, you can join the Beta Discussion section of the Winstep forums and get the latest beta.
