.wba file download association broken

I recently fooled around with user profiles in XP Pro. Now I seem to have broken the link by which any skin I download from here automatically gets unzipped and placed in the WB directory. I used to also get a little pop up from the system tray telling me I had just downloaded and installed a new skin. I use WB 4.1. How do I restore this association?

It's not just you, used to be that way, but you have to save the blind to a folder, then load it from disk, in WB configuration.

Listen Carefully:

Go in Control Panel > Folder Options > File types and wait while list loads.
Then find "WBA" and press the "change", point it to WBLOAD.EXE (should be in Your WindowBlinds installation directory).

Alternatively, You can press the "Restore" button in the same place where is "Change" button.

Hope it helps.

This option was set to wbload.exe already, but I pointed to wbload.exe again manually, with no success
Eve tried wbconfig to, but no luck, still comes .zip

Bones, do you mean when you download a .wba, it automatically opens up in WinZip when you download? Or do you get the prompt to "Open.." "Save to disk" etc?

I think the same thing is happening to me as well...in the last week or so. I used to go to a skin in the library, click on 'Download', and it would automatically download to the proper directory/folder and give me a pop-up (systray) saying that "skin name" has been installed, to apply it go to...ect. But now, I click on 'Download' and get that option window (Save, Open, etc.). So I save it (.wba) to my WB folder, then have to nav to the folder, and double-click on the .wba file. That's when I finally get a systray pop-up telling me it's installed. It just started happening within the last week or so.

Try this...go to Folder Options->File Types, find .wba, click 'Advanced', see if 'Confirm open after download' is checked, if it is...uncheck it, and try downloading a WB again...

Thanks Sir Hus, that appears to have worked Now when I download, I hit open and it saves it directly to the WB directory. Thanks

Cool! I have been having the same problem. For weeks now, I have had to save the file manually or having to just click "open File on Download" so that it goes to the proper area.

That extra step was bothersome.
