I'm sure Colbert is happy to have so many devote followers. I have no issue with him, he makes me chuckle from time to time. I just know exactly what he knows, that he is an entertainer in which some folks take too seriously.

the basic premise of the joke is: mastercard suspends wikileaks beause of, let's say moral reasons. or code of conduct if you will ... absolutely no political pressure involved.

ku klux klan is using mastercard (amongst others) to get donations, yet mastercard (amongst others) sees no 'moral' problems making business with them.  freedom of speech etc. etc.

so far so good. now this one may be harder to understand to some: Many people think, that the kkk is evil! even eviler than wikileaks!! so that's why the suspension of wikileaks on moral grounds can qualify as hypocrisy. and mastercard is an easy pun on master race, which is what makes this fun. come up with a good pun on visa and you are set for another joke.

and colbert is a very cynical political commentator, so he fits right in.
