Help..desktop x layer object, position, being changed on restart...

I have a .png of a shadow to act as the shadow for objectbar (bar at the top of the desktop with shadow underneath),when i apply a batch file, which I have created to load all theme apps, everything loads but my shadow is placed, usually, 22 pixels lower than before (this reads in "vertical position" attribut in objects "Properties" and of course is visiblely different)

so the shadow is saved and set at 22 pixels below the top of the screen but when restarted it is set to 44 pixels etc...This doesn't happen when windows fx is NOT loaded...

Thanx for any ideas.

hi,

figuered out that this was happening due to excludeing windowsfx from applying shadows to objectbar (in windowsfx in exclude section)....now,without objectbar excluded, i can have the desktopx shadow, but, menus of objectbar are shadowed (not what i was looking for but oh well

still..if anyone knows of a way of loading windowsfx but excluded from aplying to objectbar, and haveing the desktop x shadow as explained above..give us a yell

(I don't use windowsfx shadows on objectbar because I want a continuous shadow on OB and focused and unfocused shadows on windows..)

thanx

first of all why do you use a dx object for shadow when windows fx can. but it is a good idea if you don't have windowsfx.
I shall make the assumption that the objectbar is 22 pixels high. If the bar is not set to autohide the desktop boundaries should change.
What I think is happening is that desktopx is remebering the position of the object relative to the top of the screen when you turnoff. when you start up, the objects are pushed down because they are located relative to the top, and object bar changes the height to the top.
I don't have any idea why running windowsfx would do that though. I could understand it happening all the time.

hey crazy thanx for the help,
hmmm I've tried both "block windows fx from applying.." and "..finding size of screen.." to get rid of the shadows on the menus of OB but no go...(now there are only shadows on the menus..) I've notice though that if i check and apply and uncheck and apply the setting in winfx to shadow menus, the first menu i open on OB is unshadowed but as soon as i open another menu all the menus are shadowed again....??? maybe this is irelavant? also i installed an app called "add shadow"(win fx addon that allows you to shadow more windows than winfx on its own..) which i read can stay loaded even when it has been turned off? (bug?)...will look into this..(no idea how to reg edit...?)
anyways cheers for the help!

have you tried changing the disable shadows option in trouble shooting which is in the general configurationb utitilty. Go into the theme editor and it should be in the leftmost menu.

still no go
don't mind haveing the shadows much...but it would be nice to be able to get rid of them...
(still doing the strange thing with unchecking and then checking the "apply shadow's to menu's" option in windows fx....this is with "disable all shadow fx" on in objectbar)
