Some major empire alignments revealed!

Spymaster Gerakken has wasted much time and effort in rooting out the alignments of four major empires that I keep track of: GROSS, ANZAC, MWC, and The White Council. The results may amaze you, the results may annoy you, and you may not even care, but what the heck. Here is the alignment breakdown in players per category:

GROSS
Very Good : 0
Chaotic Good: 4
Neutral : 7
Chaotic Evil:16
Pure Evil : 1
Overall alignment: 60.7% evil.

ANZAC
Very Good : 3
Chaotic Good:18
Neutral : 5
Chaotic Evil: 2
Pure Evil : 1
Overall alignment: 72.4% good.

MWC
Very Good : 0
Chaotic Good:19
Neutral : 6
Chaotic Evil: 4
Pure Evil : 2
Overall alignment: 61.3% good.

The White Council
Very Good : 3
Chaotic Good: 9
Neutral : 3
Chaotic Evil: 3
Pure Evil : 0
Overall alignment: 66.7% good.

The rules of the analysis are simple. Only players in the empire with scores greater than zero are counted. There are a couple of rare cases were false very goods were changed to very evils because there is a bug that sometimes calls a player very good when they have nothing but evil games on record.

Anyway, now that the secret has been revealed, feel free to rate your empire, if you dare, or just take some time to comment on the shocking scandal that is unfolding. Empiring may never be the same now that the truth is out there! :SURPRISED:

Wait! Aren't the White Council suppose to be pure good!

.. oh yeah there was that Saruman bit... never mind!

Poor good is hard to pull off in any game :/ Pure evil is the way to go IMO :(

For how long have I been saying the White Council will inevitably become the Council of Many Colours? When the faces first appeared, their Head Wizard was SOOOOOO embarassed when it turned out he was chaotic evil.
And that's typical of the ANZACs: they talk tough but are really marshmellows at heart. I am surprised the MWC aren't blacker at heart though.

anyone know how your overall alignment gets calculated in the metaverse? i mean not in one game, but for your total alignment from all the games you submit.

is each game weighed differently based on score? or is each game weighed the same when your overall alignment gets calcualated?

The White Council stands for good stuff such as order and honour. We were never too caught up with the ingame alignments. Like many said, the game has its own perverse sense of good and evil.

Should be by the number of games won irregardless of score, Hairy. As was kindly pointed by the oh-so-evil Drop Bear, I was Chaotic Evil even though I was second on the Good board. I attribute that to the number of evil games I played months back.

irregardless

The word you are looking for is "regardless." Ir added to it is redundant.

Heh heh. It still rankles doesn't it Ray?

We had a field day with that one. The leader of the "Good ordered empire" came up as evil. LMAO

What exactluy is the point of these alliances? Do they just chat like guilds or something?

There is good in all of us, even if we choose the path of the dark side. But even now, on occasion, I too feel the power of the dark side. The power of a +25% PQ is too strong to fight against and once I start down that path, the game is lost to evil. :SURPRISED:

Hehe...we are, after all, the primary force for good in the universe. This justifies, of course, our attempts to assimilate every other empire in the cause of rightness....

Taldar,

Yes, Empires are like guilds but we do a lot more than just chat. We also spend a lot of time thinking about how we can make other Empires look dumb.

Update: Due to Drop Bear getting over his identity crisis while learning the ways of the Dark Side of the Force, ANZAC is now 70.0% good.

A new empire has been analyzed, the Space Arachnids:

Very Good : 0
Chaotic Good: 4
Neutral : 1
Chaotic Evil: 2
Very Evil : 0
Overall alignment: 57.1% good.

There may not be many of these space spiders running around, but who knows how many will get caught in their web and be unable to fight back as they slowly crawl over the map.

Great job, Gerakken.

Now, let's see the numbers for European Alliance, Canadian Star Federation and Apolyton!

Late breaking development:

The White Council has boosted its goodness rating due to a new recruit. Maike Geng is the new mage in town. The White Council is now rated at 68.4% good and is rapidly casting a domination spell over the map.

Can the evilness that is GROSS stand up to this magical onslaught? Stay tuned, because Spymaster Gerakken sees much and will file some more reports later.

I’ve got one for you! Given a specific overlord, cross tabulate the alignment of each submitted game with the type of victory. After compiling the profile of many players, you can judge if do-gooders are really those who seek brotherly love and if the bad guys are really those who pursue military conquest. Take this a step further to the empire level and you can, if such a situation exists, describe with much more detail the playing tendencies of an entire empire.

No, I’m serious! :D

KitWarrior, are you a European by any chance? I only understand every second sentence of yours. :notsure:

Ray: I just had an adventure with the hobbits and boy, have they got the dirt on you! Lucky for you I will be out of action for OVER a week (our super efficient 51% Government-owned Telstra) whilst I wait for cable to be put into my new apartment. At least it will give me time to write up the stories they told me (suitably censored) and time for you to consider resigning (again) before the dirt comes out. Hint: there's a lot of hairy feet, smoke rings, semi-naked elf princesses, and 13 dwarves! :)

Now, don't you go tempting me, Drop Bear (with resigning and the elf princesses).

And don't believe everything you hear from the hobbits, Chris. The halfing leaf clouds their minds and makes them hallucinate.

Serious or not, it is a tempting idea, but while the Spymaster may waste much time, I do not have that kind of time. What I do have is good instincts. I can usually stay one step ahead of things. So I guess you will just have to settle for my unique insight with a little number crunching on the side.

A most interesting Analysis . . . um so what's the scandal? I was never much good at reading inbetween the lines (head lines that is . . . hehe). From what I can see G.R.O.S.S aren't all that bad a bunch of bad arse mofos and the white Council aren't as squeeky clean as one might assume?

One question that has been plauging me is, can someone explain (in as much detail as possible) the purpose and meaning (and possible future use of) the pie galaxy chart? I don't really understand it . . . thanks :notsure:

Just some rabid empiring at work. The ultimate purpose is to lay some more foundation down for others to help build upon the identities that were already being established by role-players in a lot of other threads. Several empires in the top 10 were without real personality, so I am filling in some blanks slowly myself and getting a little help on the side from others.

Eventually, I hope a vibrant, colorful canvas can be painted for the top 10 empires to lend them true distinction from one another, and not for them just to be some numbers on the scoreboard. These little sets of alignment numbers and my occasional commentary might just do that. Then again, it may mean nothing to a lot of folks. But I am not out to win any popularity contests, so read it and laugh, read it and weep, read it and ponder what kind of screwball this Gerakken fellow is, or read it not at all. Anyway, I got to finish tonight's report. Be back in a bit.

The featured empire of tonight's report is The Republic:

Very Good : 0
Chaotic Good: 8
Neutral : 2
Chaotic Evil: 1
Very Evil : 0
Overall alignment: 72.7% good.

These Neo-Romans cannot decide if they are warriors or politicians. They should be making campaign stops for their election, but are instead building the War Room. Though calling itself a republic, the overall flavor seems more like the Roman Empire. Peace with superior firepower, they say. If Caesar could be a Fascist, then this would be his empire. Armed, dangerous, idealistic, nationalistic. Acting for the good of the people because the people do not know what good is. Watch out for these bright stars. They may once again start to march across the map, for the good of the Republic.

Today's featured guest is the Canadian Star Federation:

Very Good : 5
Chaotic Good:23
Neutral :10
Chaotic Evil: 9
Very Evil : 4
Overall alignment: 65.4% good.

They are a quiet empire, too much so for one with such numbers. This army slowly sneaks to the middle of the map, as quiet as a corpse, and waits for the longest time for opportunity to strike. Then, on a most auspicious day for them, Canada Day, they strike. With a grip like Death itself, the living dead claw their way toward the top, planting the Maple Leaf at the #2 spot on the map. Although the pirates of GROSS are still a fair distance away from the massacre at the middle of the map, they can smell the stench of the undead and know that a new foe is near. A new red menace is upon us.

We are too polite to polute all the discussion groups talking about ourselves.

Our empire name makes it clear who we are. Canadians can clearly see us, and we're an open group, so there is no need to constantly search out new members.

Our sudden growth may have also been influenced by the end of hockey season(s). We'll slow down again in September as we start playing and watching hockey again...
