Since I'm pretty much finished with my GUIC submission (still sitting on it, giving myself some time to make sure all things are perfect), I've been putting my creative juices towards my Halloween desktop, which is my favorite skin to create.  \o/

 

You know how some skins just seem to build themselves, and others are kind of an agonizing frustration?  This one is an agonizing frustration.  Something's just not right, and no matter how many times I look at it and change things, it's not feeling like it's working, (maybe it's cursed?) so I thought I would post a WIP thread and get some help from the community. 

Give me your thoughts on what needs to change.

I like it a lot better without the red.  Still lots of designing to do, but at least I don't feel like I want to trash it and do something else, which is how I  was feeling about it earlier.

Personally I liked the red better, gave it more of that "Voodoo" look.The gold is OK, but just doesn't have that same look.

Screw it -- I'm going back to the drawing board, and I'm getting rid of the green.  I'm keeping the voodoo doll and the start button, though.

Just keep the red, and the gold and the green.. and make it a Christmas skin.. :w00t:

Personally i don't think there is anything wrong with red and green.. cept it always.. looks Xmas'y...unless its over black.

black and orange always works best for me on Halloween, but then again, that's just in terms of decorating my house....hmmm...maybe black and red would work, I know vampires like that and it certainly doesn't hurt to have them on your side at Halloween.

Yeah, that's the direction I'm headed in.  Not a true black, but a really dark, muted orange that is almost black.

Hello k10w3, i just came from work - when i was there i asked two of our workers if they would have a tipp for a project and if they could give me some color codes RGB that they would take for a voodoo like project ...
here is what i got

Karen, your initial colors were the green and red, and you liked it and so do several other people.  I say go with your initial colors because it is what you started with and your initial vision on how the skin should look, what others think is basically irrelevant, you are the designer, not them. Make yourself happy. :)

I agree with LightStar and RedneckDude.  I think if we look back on are first choices, they usually are the correct ones.  Go for it.  :sun:
