Aporkalypse Comin'! Oh no.

No bacon with scrambled eggies?

http://news.yahoo.com/aporkalypse-not-now-bacon-shortage-exaggerated-experts-160739385.html

It isn't a critical issue but a shortage could drive the cost through the roof.

Plenty of horses/ponies to go around....

I read about the coming higher cost of meat due to the drought conditions decreasing the feed corn supply earlier last month.  My plan of action is to start cooking more beans and other legumes, which are healthier than animal protein anyway.

I'm not worried, with supplies still healthy in Canberra and other state capitals, there'll be no shortage here.  Yup, there's several parliamentary buildings full of pigs, so we'll be right here in Oz.

The labeled ingredients in the classic variety of Spam are chopped pork shoulder meat, with ham meat added, salt, water, modified potato starch as a binder, and sodium nitrite as a preservative.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spam

Yeah, probably... but not as bad as bankers.  Now you wouldn't put one of those in your mouth, no matter how well it'd been cooked.  They say that zapping things in the microwave can kill off bacteria and germs, which might make politician meat safer, perhaps, but I wouldn't like to take my chances with a banker.

I hear Brony burgers are quite tasty, also... providing you've got enough ketchup on 'em to disguise the artificial rainbow colouring.

You're lucky you get meat. After you boil a U.S. politician down, there's nothing left but an @$$hole and a briefcase. :puke:

That's why it's best to fry 'em... it leaves a bit meat on them thar ribs.

As for the briefcase... typical!  Bastards push everybody to spend money to keep up with the technological age, but those f**king cheapskates are still in the pen and paper age to save money.

As for the @$$holes, well you wait 'til they're all dried out [sun dried is best cos it helps prevent bacterial transference] and you use them for croquette rings.

I'm completely out of bacon.

It's never happened to me before.

Just got some from the local shop - £1.59 for six rashers, now we're porkin' ;)

What? A quid and a half for 6 rashers?  The bacon I buy costs me $3.75 [approx the same amount] for 10 to 12 rashers.... and it's real lean, so the piggies were obviously made to run around/exercise before their date with the abattoir.

;P

That was half price ;)

Much cheaper from the supermarket.

Do they still hang pig rustlers?

Only if they can smell the bacon fat on their breath... as the only sure evidence they 'smoked' the pig.

[smoked bacon, get it?] :-"

Here bacon costs about the same but you get a lot of strips. Yum!

With peanut butter too. :)

Don't mind bacon and beans, either. :P

And I love a roast pork leg on a Sunday 'bout lunchtime, with roast pertaters n' all the veges. :d :d
