Should I Uninstall Start8 Before Installing A Newer Version?

Hello All!!

First of all let me say I am LOVING Start8. Stardock deserves all the credit and attention they are getting due to creating such a simple yet totally necessary app for Windows 8! :)

 

My questin is... should I uninstall Start8 before installing a newer version? Up to now what I have been doing is downloading the newer versions and just running the install but I am afraid this will leave behind old "stuff" from any previous version.

I wouldnt have thought so.  I have been upgrading in place all along with no problems at all.  :-)

I think that all versions - prior to version 1.09 beta that is - would leave individual entries of previous versions of Start8 in "Programs and Features (Uninstall or change a program)" listing; but as to whether other registry entries and/or files were also 'left-over' from previous versions. . . we'll have to wait for Neil to jump in and clear it up.

Installing on top of previous versions is fine.
