1337 hAx0r Class 101: Faking Serial Numbers

CDs have lots of pits and valleys on the surface, to represent 0s and 1s. Now, the first thing you need to do is figure out what part of the CD is accessed when the program asks for the serial number. You can do this by putting a tiny spike in your CD drive, along with the CD. When the program asks for the number, bash the top of your computer case really hard. With any luck, this should drive the spike through the CD and you can see the sector being accessed.

Now, we go to stage 2. Get a scalpel and a magnifying glass, and pick out the spot where the serial number is stored. You want to carve your own serial number in there. Remember, they're in binary on the cd, so if the original serial number has 30 digits, you'll have to carve about one hundred 0s and 1s.

That's it! Fire up the game and play on! If it doesn't work, it must be your fault - practise your handwriting with a scalpel and try again.

Wait guys, I think we've got this guy all wrong. Look at the title of this post.

Hes looking for a serial for some game called galvic.

Well I think I can help you, man. Just go get four thousand monkeys and give each a typewriter. I guarantee that eventually they will pound out a galvic serial number.

Let's see, if you put it SAYN-OTOPI-RACY, that's the right number of alphanumeric characters right?
