Jam....

I don't do this for everyone! (hehe)
I just made a page on my website (www.xerraire.com)
with a Camel sampler >>

They have a certain Genesis feel to their music....
Sounds nice...

I happen to possess a lot of old Genesis too, hehe.

Are you in PA? If so I am in Maryland, we're practically neighbors!

I can see why you like the mellower songs by King Crimson........
Do you like Enya?

Yes, I am about 20 miles north of Philly....
I have everything that Genesis ever put out........

I assumed so, judging by what you mentioned you listened to. I am north of Baltimore in Harford County.

Enjoy the sampler.

I think we took over this forum topic (hehe)

I can see you put a lot of time and effort into your website, and yet it's optimized for 800 by 600 resolution.. that's a tad small for most people. I'd consider upping that to 1024 if you want more traffic.
Just a suggestion of course...

I must be one of the last of the few that still likes her desktop at 800 x 600.

I am always tons behind what everyone else is doing in the computer world.

But I accept your suggestion, in the spirit it was given. I really need to get on with the times.

I just got a new puter though, the old one, I wasn't very brave to make a lot of changes.

Nice to keep you company!

Thanks, I didn't mean it as a criticism...
It was difficult for me to let go of good old 800 too, but 1024 is nice, you get used to it real quick.
I'm actually using 1152 now, I tried 1280 but it was too tiny for me to see well.
Nice chatting with you...

I see you're using Yahoo Messenger, does that interface with ICQ?

Well, I see you're skinning for ICQ, so obviously you must use that too...

If you can call what I do skinning! (hehe)

I made feeble attempts at both icq and yahoo!

I have been on a cantankerous computer for ages and it has stifled my creativity a great deal. Perhaps with this new one, I will get back into things, including changing my screen size, (hehe)

Why are changes like that so hard for people like me? So tentative I am!

I should look to my stats to see what is the main size that my visitors use, and make my sites compatible for the majority. It makes sense.
I think that a majority of people are using 1024 by 768, I base that on my own observations so it may not
be entirely accurate.

I haven't had time to really go through your site yet, but it looks pretty well put together and interesting.

I wish to thank you for having a peek at my site. I appreciate that.

Apparently my stats doesn't allow me the information I wanted on screen size, so I went to another section of the site with that information and apparently, believe it or not the top size was 800 x 600 making up 51% of the users...
1024x768 would make up 35%
1280x1024 totalled 6%

The rest were usiing something even larger, or...smaller, hehe

I am sure glad though you brought it up, its something I need to keep investigating on my sites.

Well, that is very interesting indeed, and contrary to what most people were telling me!

Here is my reasoning...
You belong to a community of savvy computer users, and I am willing to bet that indeed the majority use the settings you say.

I am also willing to bet that for the most part that figure I mentioned is likely close to correct, (pertating to my sites) because there is a whole group of people, who use their pc's at factory settings, they are not as knowledgable.

The mails I get, asking for help with downloading and installing skins, you would not believe. I have to teach some what is a .zip file.
I believe you, and what you say makes a lot of sense....
There is an obvious disparity between say the users of this site and the general public...

Journey - "Wheel in the Sky" - 'Wheel in the Sky' - 1978

"I've been trying to make it home
Got to make it before to long
I can't take this very much longer
I'm stranded in the sleet and rain
Don't think I'm ever gonna make it home again
The mornin' sun is risin'
It's kissing the day."

"Compassion is asked for, but seldom received,
The ones who should care, sometimes make you bleed.
You cry in the night and noone is there,
Underneath the pain you try not to be scared.

Life is cruel, people are cold.
Society is faceless,
The pain is so old.
You try to bleed less, but they
want to open a vein.

Sometimes all you want, is to come out of the rain..."

Journey - "Happy To Give" - 'Raised On Radio' - 1986

"I was born a believer, played the fool
Lonely dreamer, left to choose
I don't know where the love is, there's a
promise undone
Someone's cryin', in a room all alone
Shadows fall, after the hurt is gone
Through it all, we love and we lose."

"Where is the one, someone who's happy,
(happy to give)
Happy to be with you, it's where you belong,
with someone
Who's happy (happy to give) happy to give
you love."
