No comments from others on this it seems but thanks for sharing.

I remember some talk about the map editor perhaps being a paid for DLC but I hope that is not the case. Wrap it up as free DLC, not just a patch, and it will get you a lot of kudos. Putting it as free DLC is kind of the smart way of doing it as opposed to in a patch as whenever someone goes to the store page and looks at your DLC list they'll think, "oh, this developer gives out free DLC, that's what I like to see!" :)

Map making/editing is also essential for extending the life of a game like this.

I hope water comes with 1.0 even though there is no navy yet. Setons Clutch just doesn't look right without it and it will give you a greater ability to create interesting/beautiful looking maps - always a good selling point.

You guys have a lot of work to do before February but I am looking forward to the final result.

I see you guys are really open to show us the Roadmap, many companies don't show anything about the Future of a Product, I hope Stardock/Oxide will get all the Support from the Community to help shape the game for many years to come.

Keep the great Work, everyday that pass i see how AOTS gets better and better.

Good road map, cool of you to release it for us.

I wish the second race wasn't so far from release, but it's understandable.

The Founders will get the map editor for free.  But regular users will need to get the DLC.

There's a possibility that that might not go down well but it is of course your decision to make.

I don't know the logistics behind it but perhaps a discount to Early Access buyers? They also take a "risk" on an unfinished product and contribute with bug reports and balance testing etc. Just a thought.

Frogboy what kind map editor we will have .

I really prefer pay a good map editor or alowed  me to pay a full map editor  with all options alowed then have a basic like we have for now.

Im ust to make maps ,i have make some to supreeme commander and i make to Spring games.

Often, in an effort to reduce complexity, map editors  limit the amount of actual creation that the player can do .

So normaly i and most like me  have to find other tools.

here some best map editors i have try :

The_Engenieer you are right the map Editor needs to be better, way better but, they still have so much more time before they release the Map Editor to the Public.

Maybe for us who really love to play with it, will like to get our hands to the latest Map Editor that they are using, it will be nice to tray new things

But what I really want for them to add to the map Editor is:

  • More ground Levels, I want to build higher mountains, I think right now there is 5 levels (Plain, Plateau, Hill, Mountain, Basin)  and you can only move your units in 3 levels (Plain, Plateau, Hill) building them you only really see 2 levels and that's it. so why not to have up to 10 different levels in the Map editor, by doing that you can create some really awesome maps. keep the (Mountain, Basin) as not moveable
  • be able to use Different Terrain types in the same map. lets say have Ice terrain on top of the mountains, and have terran and dessert around the map anywhere you want it.
  • Optimize the Engine as much as possible, so we can build any kind of map size using the best quality, without the need to have a very powerful PC

Right now the map is really easy to use and very strait forward, keep it like that.

Thank you.
