Will my new laptop handle Insane maps?

I am hoping some of you computer gurus on here can give me a little feedback. I currently have am running an i7 5500 with 12g of ram and an integrated HD graphics 5500 card. I can play on gigantic maps with 20 AI racds but after turn 100+ the lag is quite noticeable. Also, I have graphics for game set to low.

I just ordered a new laptop with the following specs, a 4K screen resolution and...

  • Intel® Core™ i7-6820HK,
  • 32GB DDR4 at 2400MHz
  • NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1070 with 8GB GDDR5
Will this give me the boost I want to really stretch out the game?   It is the new Alienware 17, and also has an SSD as well.

Is this a serious question?

Seriously, if your computer can't handle GC3, there's something wrong with it.  It's massively more powerful than necessary.

Desktop 1070, 4790k, and 16gb ram, handles it fine.  Desktop 1070 is only 10% faster than the laptop version.  I play on 1080p though..

With those new specs you should be able to play Galactic Civilization VI fine.

The one thing to remember with this game is it likes RAM. Yum yum.

Watch the temps and the fan speed. I have an HP with a BIOS problem where it is not controlling the fan speed properly in some conditions and it starts overheating, even without any games running. I have to check again for a newer BIOS. I upgraded its BIOS once and it did fix part of the problem.

The computer should handle it fine. The recommended ram for excessive, or insane maps is 16 gigs anyway.
